Also, does this set include the commercial bumpers? That was something missing from the Rhino sets that I do like and miss.
"Beast Wars! We'll be right back."
"Beast Wars! We're back."
"Beast Wars! More exciting action. Maximize! With your favorite 3D Transformers. Prime jets, on! Whoa, cool. On the next exciting adventure of 'Beast Wars', with 3D action!"
Awww, the original show had that stuff? It's disappointing they didn't put that into this set. Oh well, I bought it and I'm psyched with it! This is easily one of my top-5 cartoons ever...and I didn't even grow up with Beast Wars. I was 20-23 when this show was out.

A) Have the original longer season 1 opening
B) Have the original season 3 opening that isn't basicly a copy/paste of season 2
I didn't realize there was a longer Season One intro. The episodes on Season One have the shorter intro (didn't go through all of them so there could be one random episode with an extended opening). Season Two and Three have their own openings.

Bummer. I liked those. They were simple, yet had a certain charm to them.Supreme Convoy wrote:No commercial bumpers.
(*puts on professor's glasses and speaks in a Harvard accent*) Back when the season 1 episodes first aired on TV, the opening sequence was the typical 30-second long version used on most of the DVD releases. But when season 1 aired in reruns on other stations, a different, 1-minute long version aired instead. (*switches back to normal persona*) Personally, I liked this longer one better.Supreme Convoy wrote:I didn't realize there was a longer Season One intro.
I think what Dr. Heavy B was specifically asking is if the season 3 intro was the correct one, instead of the one that borrows some footage from the season 2 intro.Supreme Convoy wrote:Season Two and Three have their own openings.
However, that Beast Machines set was released by Rhino instead of Shout! Factory. So, there's no telling what Shout! would do.Supreme Convoy wrote:NemesisMonkeySupreme wrote:Actually the original Beast Machines DVD release has commentaries on S1Ep3 and S2Ep12-13, so you never know. I imagine it's more about cost (gotta pay for people's time) than that there's nothing to comment on…
Interesting. I didn't know that.
I'm trying to find them on YouTube, but no one's got them.NemesisMonkeySupreme wrote:Galvatron X wrote:Sabrblade wrote:

Man, I watched Beast Wars religiously on its original airings and I totally don't remember it even having bumpers. Were they animated like the G1 ones or just the Beast Wars logo from the opening sequence with a voice over?
Season 2 had the original character models that were carried over into this new Shout! Factory set.NemesisMonkeySupreme wrote:Gandalf wrote:No interviews with the voice cast? That's a massive disappointment for me. Did the Rhino release have anything?
The Rhino set had interviews with Bob Forward and Larry DiTillio and a film Bob Forward made as a kid with Season 1. Season 2 had nada. Season 3 and the animatic from Nemesis, Part 2 and a low-res version of the deleted scene (Meg's spark).
The second one was a closing montage of season 1 clips that played at the end of every episode (even the post-season 1 episodes) right before the final commercial break before the end credits.NemesisMonkeySupreme wrote:Sabrblade wrote:"Beast Wars! We'll be right back."

Actually I do remember the first one now, I can hear Gary Chalk's voice in my head. it was just a voice over with the logo though I think.
But was the second one? It was Optimal Optimus and Cheetor, but was it also just a voice-over or just clips from that dialogue. obviously the first part: "More exciting action. […] With your favorite 3D Transformers." was an announcer…

Sabrblade wrote:Also, while searching on YouTube, I found the reason why there exists both a long and a short version of the season 1 intro. The long version was created for reruns becuase the first-run broadcast of season 1 was part of a programming block that required its theme song run time be cut in half. What was this programming block, you say? Well, those who grew up on Beast Wars, brace yourselves for nostalgia!
