Slightly... outdated?

For starters, sorry if this has already been brought up...

Okay... So, Megatron was frozen for a few thousand years, right? Don't you think his "model" would be slightly outdated or something?

I mean, the Transformers race just keeps on evolving... and getting more advanced.

Yet, Megs was still able to whoop Prime's rear end fairly easily. Wouldn't you think that Prime (And the rest of the Transformers) would be a tad more advanced, therefore being a little stronger, faster, etc.?

Just a little thought I had.

What do you guys think?

The fact that any and all creation of new Transformers pretty much came to a dead halt once they sent the AllSpark into deep space answers this question quite nicely.
Life can be pretty sweet when your alt-mode is a B-2 Stealth Bomber.

Also the war effort would have stunted most, if not all, advances in technoloey.

Prime and the others were around when the All Spark and Megatron left into space from Cybertron. Prime and all the other Autobots are not necessarilty any newer, in terms of technology, than Megatron.

Also I don't see what advances have to do with fighting ability. Weapons technology, targetting systems, maybe. But Prime versus Megs was almost pure hand-to-hand, and Megatron absolutely ruled.

I have the same question.........its not like there was much evolving and advancement in TF tech durring the 4 million years that Prime and crew weredoorment in the Ark on Earth in the original G1 toon. :-?

Dunno. I was just assuming that.

Good point, Sto. Why couldn't have I thought of that before I started this topic? *slaps forehead*

But then that would imply the movie was based on G1.

Which it isn't. :P

A simpler explanation would be like what Night Raid said, but I see it as this.

Movie Cybertronians were simply incapable of evolution. They relied on the AllSpark to create new life. Without it there can be no new Cybertronian life.

They'd essentially become so dependant on the AllSpark that evolution simply wasn't a necessity to them.

Like everyone else has said, there is no evidence that TF evolved after Megatron left. They needed the Allspark for that.
As far as Megatron being an older model, arn't all of the movie TF, with the exception of Ironhide, about the same age?

Well thats only if you compair the 2 as a whole.........The movie and all TF shows for that mater are at least based on G1 even if its only in a very small part. And besides I would say that the movie was more influanced by G1 then most would like to believe.......While I'll admit that mane thing were different the makers went out of their way to use G1 refrances and they did use only G1 names for all the characters in the film.

Blackout are Barricade G1 names? I faintly recall Barricade being from the later part of G1 toy line, but I don't recall hearing Blackout...

They were both Micrmasters Decepticons and I know that the characters arent based on their G1 namesakes but they did use G1 names.

Yes, and it ticked me off, too. In the cartoons, it's almost even when they fight, but Prime usually loses because of his innate honor. It would've been nice to see Prime get a few strikes in on Megatron. As it was, Megs pwnd Prime completely. Ouch.

Dr. Smoov's parody videos are some of the best on the internet and the voices are spot on. I'm glad someone else has come across them too. I especially love Jazz's quick response to Chip at about 5:08 and then Ironhide's comment right after.

The "SOS Wheeljack" was okay and I recommend it to Dinobot fans but "The Rude Awakening of Prime" and "Shockwave's Burden" are top notch.

I adore Dr Smoov with all my Transformers-loving heart! He does the voices so well and hearing Prime drop the F-bomb kills me. I wish he'd do some parodies from the live-action film! The things he could do with scenes like the one where Sam and Mikeala meet the Autobots in the alley... ohh, my mind, it boggles.

SOS Wheeljack is my absolute FAVORITE. "It was your idea to build giant fire-breathing robot dinosaurs, and then not give them enough brains to tell their head from their a**. What were you thinking???" Oh, how I WISHED Prime had really said that to Wheeljack because I was thinking the same thing during that episode!

I'd love to see Wheeljack in TF2. After Prime (of course), he's my favorite, and he and Ratchet were great together.

To me SOS Wheeljack is even funnier when you realize in the original episode Prime was all like, "That sounds great, robot dinosaurs are so useful and will make all our lives easier, here's my seal of approval to build them." On the other hand Huffer was all, "You retards, why is that even I, Huffer, who is nowhere near being the smartest Autobot, intelligent enough to see that this is going to bite you all in the ass?"

That of course was the unabridged version of how the plot of "SOS Dinobots" occurred.
