Little annoyed about something and thought I would see if anyone else was on the same page.
I find it really aggravating that when searching the G1 sub category on ebay I have to sift through what feels like hundreds of these listings.

I hate that they are listed under G1, do G1 collectors even buy these cheap pieces of crap?!
Alright, rant over, I feel better now.

I don't even bother. Half the time it's just a parent reaching into a toybox and pulling out random robots and labeling them as "Transformers".

I couldn't agree with you more. That is exactly while i am very specefic when searching through ebay. I'm sure i'm missing out on some great deals by doing so but it atleast filters some of the crap. Although i'm guessing that one would have come up either way...

Between this laser prime KO and the armada smokescreen KO dubbed "bumblebee" and the KO combiners, they must be every fifth listing in that category.
I can only assume this will get worse.
Random listings from parents emptying their attics is ok, but these are like a virus.

Yeah, the upside to parents doing that is that sometimes they might pull something fantastic and not know what they have in their hands, therefore you can get it for cheap. All the rest of the time it's always like G2 BUMBLEBEE'S RIGHT LEG WITH MCDONALDS TRANSFORMING HAMBURGER AND OPTIMUS' LEFT FIST!! and maybe some Go-Bots or Voltron here and there.

I had this same feeling last week as I was looking through the supposed to be generation 1 category. Seems that if it has the word "prime" in it its G1, and how the hell can a movie fig be G1. Totally agree with you

I have problems like this (volume junk sellers) with other eBay categories I search.
After you get to the Generation 1 sub-category, just put the following in the search box:
transformers -(for happy)
You can also use quotes. You might have to check the search title and description box. Sometimes, the filter doesn't work as desired. I just tried it in the "Transformers" category and by simply limiting the term "for happy", I got 400 or so fewer hits.
Since that is the eBay user name for the outfit hawking a lot of this junk, it will screen out the problem listings. You can add as many filters as you'd like to the search string. It makes wading through the crap a lot easier.
