Yup, Fox wants to cut the salary of the voice actors of the Simpsons by 45%, the vice actors are rightfully not OK with this and Fox has already stated that if the voice actors won't accept this "offer" they can the show.
Who else thinks that Fox should go f**k themselves? I mean seriously? 45%? You can seriously not afford to pay 6 million dollars annually for the voice actors of the most successful show in the world Fox?
Sure, they would still make more than 3 million a year, but they earn that much for a reason. And to make something clear, the vas are willing to accept a cut of 1/3 of their salary.

Still a shame to see it go. Fox has them over a barrel, though. Apparently the show can still make money in reruns after being cancelled. Sucks!!

It would be sad to see the show go... but maybe it has run its course.

Sad to see all of the lower quality animated comedy shows it has spawned still kicking around though. Would almost like to see it hang on just to spite them.

While I haven't liked the show for a long time, It's unfortunate that is might be cancelled due to the actors wages.

The show has really gone down hill lately, perhaps the writers salaries should be cut some!?

Actually Fox has every right to ask them to take the pay cut. If the ratings aren't doing as good, and revenues are down, then a pay cut is the obvious thing to do to keep the show going.

My salary was once $100 a month. I have no patience for such greed, sorry. These greedy people should visit a place where people experience poverty. They'll shut up really quick.

I have to agree with my fellow Vermonter here. As much as I love The Simpsons and enjoy the work of the voice actors, it's hard to sympothize with someone refusing millions of dollars a year, even if it is a pay cut. And besides, even if the show is cancelled they'd still be making royalties from syndication, merchandise and DVD sales.

Have you've noticed that shows don't do well when they replace voice actors? Main example: Pokemon.

That's the thing, the voice actors don't get royalties for their work, only their normal pay.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of the Simpsons, and that's why I think its important for all fans to say that of late, it just hasn't been that good. I watched the first episode of the most recent season online the other day, and I have to be honest, I stopped watching about 10 minutes in, I thought it was rubbish.

I'd rather they churn out a season every two years thats actually quality, then try and ram sub-standard episodes down our throats. Of course, it does go through cycles where the seasons are a little crud. The seasons that came out around the time Family Guy and Southpark were really popular are absolute arse. Hopefully they can pull themselves out of their slump.

But all shows have to end at some point. I'd rather it go out on a high note. As for the salary disputes, which I hear are now sorted, they do need to pay those guys a decent wage as they simply can't replace them and think we wont' notice.
