huh, Is the same Phenotype from "Phenotype's Zoids forum"? If it is then I am also Tyrannotaur on there. Coolz.

In the comic adaptation of the first film Optimus kills Barricade in the same scene he kills Bonecrusher. Unfortunately in the film Barricade just seems to get off on a exit ramp and go get some doughnuts or something.

I thought he picked up the parents in France too. Looks like him, and makes his "sounds". That same clip is used in a LG commercial, where Optimus keeps saying "It's a Decepticon" over and over to some idiot guy with a phone. You can see it kinda clearly in there. I dunno if it is him however. Probably just a protoform "red shirt" decepticon.

I hope he comes back in the third one. Would be cool to see him fight Prowl.

That was already an issue with the first movie. Ford was really conflicted that their car had to be a 'bad guy', so while they allowed the Saleen to be used, if you look carefully, you never see a Ford logo.

Compared to the GMC logo you see every thirty seconds with Ironhide....

So I don't think that's the issue.

And if we follow the Bayverse comics, in RoS he was still alive and recuperating. In Alliance, his recon (following the Autobots) informed Starscream about Wreckage (I think) and is the reason the Autobots are late--they had to go slow because they were tailed by a police car. So he's still alive after the first movie, and I for one would be cheezed if he wasn't given a reasonably high profile death. Of course, I'd be cheesed if he were dead, for that matter.

HK, we need a Decepticon Honda Accord. We shall call him Discord. He will rock.

That's a really good point.

I didn't hit me that he wasn't there until you mentioned that.
Yeah, I completely missed him.

Though like a lot of people have mentioned, I thiink he was either killed off by NEST or he's not coming out until TF3.

the barricade issue is confusing. the original screen play, had him die at prime's gun,but it diddn't make it into the film, thou it was in the novilization of the movie.
his death REALLY needed to have been in the DVD. It was the first time prime used his gun, and explained why it took prime so long to rejoin the others. but, nope
so one has to assume, he Is dead.
he was a cool charecter.

Agreed, the fact that Prime was so late for the Mission city battle sort of idicates that his fight with Barricade was on the storyboards at least and got cut from the film

Blurrz wrote:Barricade has 9 lives. First he's supposed to die in the 2007 Movie Novel Adaptation, then he gets mauled by Prime in the RotF Prequel Novel: Veiled Threat.

In all honesty I wouldn't doubt he's still alive.

I don't know about the 9lives aspect but Blurrz is correct in that Barricade got his a$$ handed to him by Optimus in The Veiled Threat. Since Alan Dean Foster also wrote the Movies Novelizations, both of his prequel books "Ghosts of Yesterday" and "Veiled" are in direct line with the rest of the Movi-verse. While not having been rendered totally 'offline', Barricade was left for dead in the catacombs underneath the Coliseum in Rome. No back-up, nowhere to run and lick his wounds, nobody to help pull his butt out of the debris and no Radio Shack in site. :P

Well, I don't care if Barricade died in the novels. If they did kill him off, I wanna see it on screens. It would be a crime to not put him in TF3. I could see him battling Prowl.

Plus Bay and Co. were complaining how they were running out of money to make CG for Transformers ROTF . Why not put Barricade to save some money? They could have used Barricade to replace one of the no-name Decepticons.

EXACTLY!
Barricade was such an awesome character.
Out of all the Decepticons in the first movie, he was the one who could acutally "blend in" into civilation (cause a cop car is less obvious then a tank).
And such a awesome character deserves an awesome on-screen death!

And, i believe that the protoform kidnapping the Witwickys, is Rampage, cause he is later shown with them.
