While definitely a dumb quote, it's actually pretty par for the course. Prime has said and done various stupid things in the past in the original cartoons too. Here's a couple prime examples that come to mind immediately:

(while Optimus plays basketball with Spike).

Spike: "The word is 'dribbling', Optimus!"

Just seems out of character for Soundwave, if they were to do such a thing

The "my bad" thing cemented Oppy's mentioning the Autobots learned about earthlings from the "world wide web". Btw I liked the way that was said too.

If Bay has some sense (and he does; he listened to fans who they wanted to v/a Prime) he won't have soundwave saying something akin to "my bad". Besides the character being cruel and emotionless, 1st Bay kept emphasizing the decepticons as "they bad" at the expense of their characters.

Hope he listens casting Soundwave's v/a. I just can't see anyone else but Welker in the role.

I have seen a few pics of the toy. He is a Satellite and a Jet, he seems to be a triple changer. Makes sense since Ravage is a rocket missle. His head looks like Soundwave, there is also a lot of chrome solar panels on him.
