Grotusque Sp Ed
This was just an on the SPOT purchase from Amazon at a very cheap price (it was MISB) that I initially wanted to get a feedback here if he was worth it. I thought I might get a lemon.
Since I got zilch, I closed my eyes and pushed the buy me now button.
The Good:Nice transformation action painting.
Great retool.
New Shoulders and longer chicken feet compared to Doublecross.Gerbil head is also nicely designed.
Box was nice in all black but......couldn't Hb used the cardboard type from the MP series? And the cheapO bio cards were fastened using scotch tape type..........that's gonna ruin the box
New chest panel on top the Doublecross base mold.
New head. Fengul is well painted for an Hb release.
Tight parts, No mold degradation yet
The bad (kind off)Hb scrimped on the plastics. Scrimp as in 90% of the figure is made up of purple pink plastic ( and they wonder why Grotusque makes fun of himself)
Hb made up for this by dunking him with all sorts of glossy paint apps.I wish it was less glossy and more subdued. Same with his weapon which splits in the middle. The gray white paint is ugly when you see the pink unpainted parts. If this was a gray aluminum color plastic, it would have been much better.
What da?Why is it his wings are made of painted hard plastic while Mindwipe had those rubber soft ones which will melt a couple of years from now?
Is this Hb's marketing strategy now? Releasing trial molds to see if it sells? Doublecross was said to be a shelf former owing to the characters not being that popular sans Furman (who the heck green lit them anyway?)
Though as a G1 afficionado lacking the original Monsterbots, I appreciate the effort for the release.
OthersScorponok freebie? Still sealed. I didn't want to ruin the box.
Overall: 4 out of 5 though using different colored plastics would have been much better.
