People were offended by the Twins for actually using terms like ehhh "**** taco" and the like combined with the attitude.

Nitro Zeus never actually said anything like that he just had a tough guy voice like many other Decepticons in any other continuity do.

Didnt sound tough, sounded like a charicature to me. I much preffer the way Megatron and Barricade spoke.

The screen writer even owned up to their embarassement of what they saw onscreen:

Kurtzman: It’s really hard for us to sit here and try to justify it. I think that would be very foolish, and if someone wants to be offended by it, it’s their right. We were very surprised when we saw it, too, and it’s a choice that was made. If anything, it just shows you that we don’t control every aspect of the movie.
The article still doesn't answer my question: Were the Twins specifically identified as black? Either by themselves on screen, or with exposition by other characters? If not, then all this racism stuff is just other people's opinions. One that I don't share. And Kurtzman's backpedaling is just response to the reaction. I don't think he would have said that if no one said anything about the Twins.

Its cool if you are not offended. I wasnt offended, just annoyed at the use of annoying earth based charicatures for alien robots (doesnt matter if Nitro was acting like a gangster or a celebrity, both are annoying charicatures). But I was curious as to how skids and mudflap had people reacting, when Nitro Zeus doesnt. I personally found all these characters annoying, Mowhawk included.
To me Nitro Zeus came off like a punk-ass thug. That has nothing to do with race. It has to do with lack of intelligence. I agree that more people should be going "what the hell is the problem with the writers for putting this kind of character on screen?" but not because the caricature is offensive. Because it's a waste of screen time, serves no purpose to the story, and thus feels like stealing my money as a paying viewer of the movie.

I 100% agree with that and I am totally cool with it interpreting it beyond a race thing, that makes way more sense anyway. Still doesnt change the fact that it sucked, which you pointed out. I felt exactly as you described while watching the film.

I still think that Nitro Zeus is the best Decepticon in the movie and would love to see more of him regardless if it's in the next movie or a future cartoon/comic maybe tone down his thugness a little but don't get rid of it since it makes him a fun character.

Yes I know he is (maybe) dead but that doesn't stop Megatron or Barricade.

Also Mohawk was still talking after being blown up do you guys think me might still be alive then?

No, I think he died. I think his head still talking was just another dumb joke thrown in for the sake of nothing.

I don't care what other people do. I liked the Combaticons in the original comics and considering Bay's penchant for the military, I'm surprised he hasn't put them in yet, being a military group and all. I want to see them on screen because they had alt modes that could actually be useful to the story of fighting aliens on Earth, as well as the concept of Bruticus, even though we have seen how disastrously the combiner concept was handled in Bayverse.
Rodimus Prime wrote:They were supposed to be total badasses.

Were they? Because they clearly weren't because the Decepticons besides Megatron were not the main villains of the movie since that would belong to Quintessa.
Given their attitudes when they were released, they were typical thugs who would serve the purpose of destruction and combat against the Autobots, the reason for which Megatron wanted them released.

Yeah, some parts definitely make you feel that way. But so did the other movies, didn't they? For me, the parts with the Autobots bantering and Cogman and Edmund Burton outweigh the pointless jackassery of the Decepticons and TRF.

And, considering the credit scene, I look at TLK as the 1st part of a story, so some things are supposed to be left unanswered and kind of pointless. Hopefully the writers can pick up the slack for the next film and make the pointless parts in this film worth it.

I mean yes this is obviously part one with the way it ended and the fact that Quintessa, Megatron and Barricade are still around.

Oh and Unicron is still a threat... we can't just reboot the films with that still around.

Just using this as otherwise I would probably quote Rod about 8 times, but I agree with pretty much everything Rodimus Prime just said, dating back about a page to when my first notification was. I feel good about the $16.19 i spent on the ticket, lanyard, and shirt and experience, and no one in this movie felt like a racist thing. It felt stereotypic and some parts were funny, and then there were awesome parts that made up for any lost sort of parts. Cogman, for example, basically made up for a lot of the sins of the film in my honest opinion. That and everthing about Hot Rod was good too. And the junkyard scenes. Those made up for lots

Went and saw the film again tonight, and I managed to pick up on several things that I hadn't noticed before.

The first and main one was ZB-7. that was Bee's codename during WWII, and then Cade said it when Bee went to take on Optimus. Both times were the only times Bee used his hammer. Makes sense that the hammer is kind of the symbol of "murderBee", which makes it pretty cool to me.

Second thing: I have a theory about Megatron that is now supported by movie points. When Quintessa slapped Optimus in the face, he grew his red spot, and that was the symbol of her control and corruption, as evident when it disappeared when he woke up. Megatron had one the entire movie, and no other character besides those 2 did. so my theory is that between the 4th and 5th film, Quintessa was able to reach out to Megatron (she is their creator afterall) and she restored him to his new knight body and standard transformation and stuff, and he took back his original name (kind of like Armada/Energon/cybertron). He knew of the staff because she was using him and the cons to get it, but then she used Optimus as either a backup plan or when he fell into her lap, Megatron became the backup, which makes sense seeing as how he dropped in after Optimus broke from the corruption.

Another thing is that I noticed Hot Rod grabbing and carrying Sqweeks ala hitman running with a baby style after Sqweeks blew up that one gun. It was cute.

When I was in the theatre, there were lots of kids tonight. It was funny to hear them gasp when Bee went to pieces, and then the utter silence followed by "wows" when Bee spoke for the first time. Cogman was the main source of entertainment once again, and he was loved by the audience. the Dad behind be said he really liked him.

Went and saw it tonight. Was it a ****? Hell yeah it was.

But it was fun. I loved it.Things I loved:
Simmons. Everything Simmons. And topspin was a nice touch. (though I did notice the head thing you guys were talking about)

Hot Rod. Loved em'. Can't wait to see more. Loved the accent too.

Cogman. Everything Cogman.

Lennox. He didn't do much but I still liked him. Santos ripping off the badge was cool too.

Sir Edmond Burton was the highlight of every scene he was in.

Alot of things I hated from the trailers weren't as annoying as I thought they'd be. Cade and Vivian felt less forced than previous relationships (though the scene with the talisman in his pants was stupid and immature). Squeeks wasn't terrible, neither was Izabella, nor was Jimmy.

The Knights were awesome, but their lines were a little corny. Also, the beginning middle ages scene was cool, but a bit too long.

Lots of transformations. Good.

Lots of transformers in general. Great. loved it. Now give my boy crosshairs some more fight scenes please.

Infernocus. Was he there long? No. But he was cool while he was there. Plus I didn't expect him to be there long anyways.
Things I didn't like:

The ending. Good ending but just a little too abrupt. At least show cybertron drifting away from earth. It staying there could be problematic.

Onslaught, wasted.

Dinobots, wasted. I know they were never supposed to be key players, but at least show them joining the charge at the end so we know they're still there.

No headmaster cogman. But hey, he was entertaining enough as it is, so this is really just a nit-pick.

Actually tell people megatron was under Quintessa's control. I know he had the red mark, but still, could have been elaborated on a little further.

Barricade wasn't in it for very long. Didn't do much, but I guess the decepticons really weren't the main villains of the film. Oh well, better luck next time.

Anyways, I had a load of fun, and I think critics just need to chill out, and take these movies for what they are, movies marketed to a younger audience, and made to entertain. If you go in expecting a oscar winning film that will change you emotionally, after 4 other movies like this, you're causing your own disappointment.

I saw The Last Knight yesterday (starting to wish I saw it in the evening so I could make a bad "Last Knight last night" joke), sadly this is the first Bayformers film I really disliked. A couple of points and issues I have with it:

> The way some of Cade Yaeger's characterization is done, like his friendship with Bumblebee ("Bee's always had my back") and the Last Knight ancient destiny stuff ("Everything you've been through in your life has been leading up to this"), as well as the Witwiccan clan, makes me think the script was originally written with Sam Witwicky in mind, like they started writing the script assuming Shia LaBoef would agree to return, but then of course he didn't, so they re-wrote it to give Cade the grand destiny and the friendship with Bumblebee.
> The first hour or so spends quite a long time introducing and re-introducing the cast, Autobot, Decepticon and human alike, but once Cade goes off with Cogman in that plane everyone else seems to just disappear for a frustratingly long time, the film chooses instead to focus exclusively on Cade, Star-Lord's mum, Anthony Hopkins and Cogman as they all loudly ramble and make bad jokes and talk over each other at a thousand miles an hour, with tiny snippets of exposition here and there, and you don't see the other cast again for what feels like a solid hour and a half.
> I don't really mind the Decepticon Suicide Squad scene itself, but Berserker's little bit was really awkward. They introduce him tied up and snarling like a savage beast, really hyping him up to be this ultra-violent BAMF, but then the TRF lawyers are just like "NOPE NOPE NOPE WE'RE NOT LETTING HIM OUT PICK SOMEONE ELSE NOPE NOPE NOOOOOPE!" What's the point of introducing a character only to say "No, he's not going to be in the film at all"?
> Just a tiny pet peeve, but it's a shame that there weren't more G1 characters or at least G1 names in the new robot cast. It was more or less just Hot Rod, Onslaught, and mention of Unicron, but all of the other new robots are original characters made for this film. That's not a bad thing in and of itself, but I would have preferred more older characters, even just changing Daytrader's name to Wreck-Gar or giving Cogman the name of a G1 Headmaster (Highbrow?) would do. Speaking of Cogman, it's also a bummer that he never turned into a head and attached to a larger robot body despite being referred to as a Headmaster.

I enjoyed the movie as far as action goes. That's about it though. It didn't need to be over two hours, and nothing in between the action entertained me. I feel like the point of the movie was to justify the plots of the previous movies. I do think that Michael Bay needs to step away now, and it's time to bring in some fresh blood. Which I think will depend on how well this movie does, and how well the Bumblebee movie performs and is received. With Cybertron being right in Earth's orbit, "And there better be some gravitational issues addressed in the next movie," and now the Autobots back in the good graces of the world, it's a good place to start fresh.

I enjoyed the movie .

Hot rod existed pretty much all as a gag which was disappointing as he could've fit named as mirage or cliffjumper. The accent joke would've fit either bot to be honest so just a shame to see his very name be a long bad gag.

Not sure why hound has medical symbols although he does as much medical work as ratchet. He got a lot of screen time and felt very much how ironhide should've sounded and behaved.

Probably my biggest gripe was topspin having leadfoots head that was really annoying. Either roadbuster or sideswipe or Dino would've fit that role better than a weird design error. Can't understand that oversight.

There was also a breakaway looking old plane at burtons home that spoke briefly to obviously pad mark ryans inexplicable involvement in these movies.
Looking to swap a takara Titan class fortress maximus head for a Hasbro US retail Titan fortress maximus head.

Would alternatively buy a Hasbro US retail fortress maximus head on its own if anyone had one for sale.

How much younger? Because this film had people pulling the finger, robots saying "**** you" (which even our site censors), soldiers burned alive by a dragon, and an overly long joke where women are thinking Mark Wahlberg and Laura Haddock are having some really rough sex upstairs and want to go watch.
Plus jokes about strippers and more talk of people's sex lives. Doesnt sound like the material for a younger audience.

That makes me think of another big flaw. Megatron was doing a pretty terrible job getting the staff in the begining. Why was he going after Cade if Cade, the talisman, and the last knight had nothing at all to do with the Staff? Lets say he got the talisman from a dead Cade, then what?

Just watched it.

I like the other movies. They are bad movies, but i find enjoyment and good things in them. This one? I was fighting the urge to walk out by the half way point.

It was terrible. Plot was..... What plot? How does this connect? Wheres the adventure in revealing this story?

I liked Megatron. I liked Barricade. I liked Izzy. I liked the base concept of the story. The very basic concept. And i liked seeing anthony hopkins running around not caring and i swear acting like he was drunk in filming.

But my word. This was so bad. I was enjoying it up until cogman took cade to England. And from that point on, i just didn't care about the characters. I didn't feel like i was watching something coherant. It was.... It was awful. And ine i won't be picking up on dvd. 2\10. Jeez. I have no intention of ever watching that again.

Thats great, it means you liked at least 30 minutes of this 2+hour film, which is the amount of time they are on screen combined

Thats great, it means you liked at least 30 minutes of this 2+hour film, which is the amount of time they are on screen combined

Hahaha. Unfortunately, they also shared a lot of screen time so that 30 minutes comes down to about 10.

I just saw the movie and despite the critics NUKING it to oblivion, I pretty much liked it. Sure, some fat could have been cut off and the Decepticons could have used some more screen time, but it was FAR better than Age of Extinction.

Also, is it just me or Quintessa give some pretty heavy Beast Machines Botanica vibes?

My Parents (mostly my father, with mom agreeing) wrote:Izzy's useless, she brought nothing to the movie in terms of plot. Sqweeks is just there for the kids. Megatron's group was unnecessarily/overly 'gangsta'. How many more times can we do the whole 'save the Earth' shtick? Let them go into space or something. Go back in time, tell the story of the Great War.
The movie wasn't bad, action was great. Writing wasn't the best, there was a lot of forced comedy, like they were trying too hard to be funny.
Overall, I enjoyed the movie. It was a little better than AoE. I liked Anthony Hopkins, and the Knights thing, though the 12 Knights should have done more. Cogman was fun, design was a bit too C-3PO-ish. Hope he comes back in future movies.

My thoughts, bouncing off of them, I did somewhat like Izzy's character, but she didn't really have a major purpose other than to kinda be a daughter-surrogate for Cade. Sqweeks is basically a Minion, kid-appeal. A lot of unnecessary swearing. During action scenes and high tension, I understand, but otherwise it was a bit much.
I also had a good time, thought it was fun. I'm eager to see where this whole Unicron-Earth thing goes, and I'm hoping it goes for a grander scale than TF: P did. Loved Cogman, and I hope to see him return and actually do some Headmaster stuff.

Feel free to ask any of my opinions on specific stuff from the movie! I haven't seen it enough or had enough time to fully collect my thoughts.

Does the medallion and the Last Knight himself actually serve any kind of purpose towards the plot? Why would Megatron want the medalion if its not connected to the Staff? Isnt he looking for the staff?

Also, there are 2 versions of the film being shown right now, one where Nitro says "say hi to your wife for me" to the guards and another where he says "Enrique is sleeping with your wife". Which did you watch?
