I find it funny how many people accept that the movie has giant alien robots but then they want an explaination for things like, why did his nose burn in the thin atmosphere and why was he able to go into outter space. LOL.
It's like people are no longer able to enjoy fiction anymore because they have to have an explaination for everything. That is why a lot of G1 fans were disappointed with the movie before it came out. It seemed as if everything was made to be REAL. But the movie is fantasy. It shouldn't have to be explained with any other explaination then, "it's a movie. A science-FICTION."

yeah, he looks like he starts spinning and making that "wah-wah-waah" noise like he is transforming into something a little more deep-space appropriate. like the millennium falcon.
An_de wrote:When I watched the movie, I clearly saw that he transforms into something else, not Raptor, something like a space-travelling mode.

How do we know what altitude he was at? And besides, doesn't it make a difference how fast he was going in that case? The faster you go, the more wind resistance you encounter.
Oh, and he's not a Raptor. He's a fricken giant alien robot that LOOKS like a Raptor.

Only a space shuttle has enough power to fly through the atmosphere.
Not seen the credits?

Sportimus Prime wrote:Just watched the YouTube Video, and all I can tell is he mutters something ....then says "Bumblebee", or "I will be...", spins around, and then kicks it into high gear. I don't see him changing form, just spinning around. His wings, and plane shape seem intact. He's pissed, and running to get reinforcements, no doubt. SS is a coward, but he doesn't run away for long.

Wrong, it is the only reason!
Now you're just being pedantic.
Do you mean that as an insult?
I do not insult people, my friend. It simply isn't good form.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

Why can't they ask questions about a movie they enjoyed (or didn't, in some cases)?

There is a big difference between asking a simple question about something that actually matters or exists and looking too deep into things, especially works of science fiction.
Like the science of star wars people mentioned earlier, turning such things into scientific debates is just stupid and a waste of time. Sure some of the things that are talked about show these people are very smart and know alot about physics, but ffs its just a goddamn movie! Why are they wasting their knowledge and energy trying to figure out how a fictional alien robot transforms thats based off of a kids toy!?
Its just totally insane to me, i cant understand the motives of these people because its all just a total waste of time. Why cant these people put their knowledge to good use instead of wasting their time with trivial crap about a piece of mainstream science fiction about kids toys?
Asking a question is fine if its something like: Why do transformers transform?
Asking: HOW do transformers transform? Or: Why did SS burn up in earths atmosphere when he left? is stupid. Why? Because the answer ALWAYS is: its just a movie/ work of science fiction no matter how far people are willing to waste their time looking into it.
Why cant people just enjoy it? Why do they have to have everything explained to them in intricate, and unnecessary detail when the details where never there to begin with?

It might be waste of time to you and me but to the people that ask (and answer) the questions it might be important or a worthwhile discussion. I don't see what the difference is between discussing details like this and discussing whether 70s Camaro Bumblebee should have painted or translucent windows. 70s Camaro Bumblebee is just a toy. These are just details people want to discuss. I myself don't see why so many people enjoy discussing what vehicles should be used in the sequel but I understand that people are interested and that to them such discussion isn't a waste of time.
Yes that sums it upTekka wrote:I'd say the number one reason is; he is an alien robot from outer space.

Thanks for this, I missed it in theaters.
Awesome scene. But yeah, he's an alien robot with the same engines he used to arrive on Earth.
If you listen to the clip where he does the flypast enough, it sounds like he says something in his native tongue, ending with Bumblebee, before firing his main jets and leaving the atmosphere. Doesn't sound like SS transform sound, he uses a varient of the G1 sound. Which is not this. And unlike Blackout, Starscream kept using the same transformation sound.

Not really. It'll make no difference as it is all still science FICTION. Since they are aliens they can get away with anything, now if they start doing funky stuff with humans and giving the period world technology it shouldnt have then there will be a problem with the beliveability factor, but otherwise there wont be a problem, just like the first movie.
