I used the pink foam insulating sheets they usually install on the outside of homes. It's lightweight, sandable, paintable, and held together well using liquid nails. My only problem was, we didn't attempt to try them out before my kids school holloween party, there were limitations to movement. The Prime was for me and kind of was a last minute project, I made errors with chest proportion (it wouldn't fit over mine) and the shoulder hieght. I still have them and ever since, I've been considering trying it again. I think it would even be possible to spackle as filler to smooth out some of the rough areas.
