I would be on board with this.

I would also like leader FOC Dinobots, though I can wait on them until we finish the live action leader dinobots.

BTW, Sunstreaker and Sideswipe are in stock at Amazon, bought mine last night

Yep, it looks like the designers used the model sheet section that depict Swoop's wings in a configuration that doesn't really follow what they actually did in the cartoon.

Image

In the cartoon, no matter what the model sheet conveyed, they drew Swoop's wings so they reached further back, attaching closer to his rear 'claws'. And the section of the wings which connected to the body were not angled forwards. They went pretty much straight out from the side of the body, tapering slightly inward. This had the wings extending out further, and using a 3-hinge setup for better 'flapping' poses, not a 2-hinge setup.

Image

I wish they'd gone that way instead. It would give Swoop more presence with a wider wingspan, and I'm sure they could have accommodated the 3-hinge wings with the engineering and not sacrificed the robot mode's cartoon accuracy.

Image

The 2-hinge setup, combined with the shorter wingspan, diminishes the appearance of the wings by comparison to how he was conveyed, in action, on the series.

I am a bit surprised the wings don’t have 3 hinges…
Sure, the torso expands/collapses, but there is very little transforming in either the arm or leg areas; fewer parts and less engineering overall, and therefore I figured more would’ve gone into the wings and the wing articulation.
Thankfully this doesn’t affect the appearance of the bot mode.

Every one of these Dinobots has at least a slight issue with their dino mode. But considering they are pretty legitimate Leader class figures, it doesn’t seem like these issues could have been adequately addressed in this budget. Even scrapping the couple pack-in figures probably wouldn’t be enough.
I’m confident these are the best Dinobots Hastak will release for a very long, long time.
Anything better will not only be years and years and years and years down the road, but guaranteed they will be much more expensive, without any guarantee they’ll be as large or larger.

I’m very happy with all 5.

Same, not waiting like I did with Snarl and then have to scramble to find one. I'm surprised it didn't go up this week like SS Suntreaker and SSGE Sideswipe did since they were all revealed at the same time.

One good thing to me about Swoop: he appears to continue the trend of odd number release dinobots being good. He looks great. I am continuing to enjoy him as more photos come out.

He had already sold out when I checked at 1:20. So much for that! Ordered one on BBTS. Was hoping it would go up on Target, but it hasn't yet (Target Prime is available again so there's that).

Put in my preorder for two copies of Swoop with Amazon just a little after noon.
I thought this guy was wave 2…. Even if he ships in July, that’s third quarter…
Oh well.

It’s kind of crazy that I’ve preordered the last TF figure on my “Most Wanted” list…
Anything and everything else is just icing now.

Absolutely brilliant! I had an appointment today which prevented me from being able to place and order at Pulse, so I guess I'd have to try y luck with EE's questionable availability.

If it makes you feel any better, my Autobot 5 pk will be here from Entertainment Earth in 6 days even though I want to say the original ship date was for sometime in July.

Nabbed Swoop off Gamestop. Last G1 Swoop I'm ever gonna get.

Yes his wings could stand to be longer. I'm hoping for a 3P fix but I wonder how it can be done. I see rivets in there. Honestly, though, all the dinos have their own unique flaws. Grim has missing front teeth. Slag has a gun where the tip of the tail should be. Snarl has their weird tail. Sludge has a hollow belly! It would be inconsistent for Swoop to be perfect!

TBH, though, even if they're all just 10% shy of 100% I'm glad to have the set. I never thought we'd get large, official, Dinobots.

Just heard The Touch at the airport. Heard it a few weeks back at a restaurant too and I'd never heard it while out anywhere. Hopefully the people in charge of music at these places are also celebrating the 40th, or maybe it's just chance lol but I hear that song and I can hear Optimus saying "Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost"

That's pretty wild!

Incidentally my SS86 Snarl just shipped from Entertainment Earth. Yay, it wasn't cancelled!

I was originally going to pass on this set, but with there being almost nothing else to get this year I decided to cave since Game Stop had it in stock for ordering, and the fact I have about 40 points to redeem thus lowering the cost.

As I said in another thread I tried to order Gears from them too but hit a snag with arrival dates and wanted to charge shipping on each item. So now I'm back to thinking EE is the only way to get Swoop, Gears and a couple others.

The Autobot 5 pack was an exception for me. I really want Sunstreaker,
and this Hound is probably the best we'll get until after I'm retired from collecting. I also really like the new versions of the other three, and I never could find Trailbreaker.

I was really happy that the day after my SS86 Blaster showed up on my doorstep, I was able to return and re-buy him at Target for 30% off. Not to mention, that $24+ went towards another promo of getting $10 off a total purchase of $50+.

I'm really annoyed by the way Gamestop separates the free shipping threshold by release date instead of by cart like they used to. Thankfully they had a bunch of new Legacy stuff in stock, and some open SS pre-orders coming later. Gears is the only thing I wanted that I didn't order because of his unique release date for some reason.

My white whale in this set was Hound being that I too am getting close to winding down and by the time they revisit him better like SS86 Ironhide I'll be out. Second is Trailbreaker because I wasn't sure on him at first but then eventually sold out everywhere when I made the decision.

I went back and forth because I have zero use for the others and the fact I didn't really want opaque windows amongst the other Bots that don't have them.

You may want to keep an eye on Walmart.com. For a while they had Buzzworthy Cliffjumper for $24-ish. Buzzworthy Kup is $20 right now. I'm not going to let it bother me that some of my Autobots have transparent windows. It is what it is. I even have Ironhide modded to mostly opaque plastic, but his windshield is still transparent.
Unless there is some crazy sale, I don't plan on doing the same for Ratchet. What will bother me is when I like the altered face of Brawn more than the original.

Theoretically I can say it doesn't bother me, but I know that as soon as I a have a few on the shelf looking different my OCD will kick in big time!
And realistically I don't have it in me to totally swap everyone out with opaque windows anyway, nor the time if that's something they'd ever finish doing.
