SXS R-02 - Blurr

I'm still using TFA Blurr as my classics Blurr.
I really prefer the tall and lanky look of him for the character over the Generations mold, or this, which I find too bulky.

For me it's not the physique of the robot mode that puts me off, more the fact he doesn't look particularly sleek.

He looks nice, but he's surely not Blurr. I'd get him as an extra Cybertronian Autobot or something, but not for the price they're asking.

I can see him as Blurr, but I hate the size.

I bought this guy and I regret nothing. In hand is a lot different than in pictures, he just screams Blurr.
At first, I was a bit put off by his size, but he fits in okay I think. He's definitely not Masterpiece by any means, he just doesn't have the aesthetic, but he looks REALLY nice with the CHUG figures.
I was glad to see SXS made changes for the better in their production line and design phases because this guy leaves their Gears in the dust. (And I actually like their Gears figure!) This one's nice and heavy, he's got the right amount of complexity and his gimmicky weapon has even grown on me.
The price is the only thing that really sucks, but I'm still glad I spent it because I'm lovin' this figure.

I think it makes a pretty good Blurr. The question is really about the price.
If this was $80 you probably wouldn't be thinking twice.

A year or two ago, I may have agreed. Where I am now I disagree whole-heartedly.
The Hasbro Generations Blurr is a good representation of the character in my collection.

But what you said is that this surely isn't Blurr...
And this figure is far more faithful to the IDW representation of the character and to a lesser extent, the G1 version of this character than the Generations figure is.
I mean, I had put it out of my mind, but Gen Blurr is just a reskined Drift with a new head. The blue and the head are where the Blurrness ends.

Absolutely about price on this dude. Far too much coming out from every side (especially for an absolutely unfocused collector like me) to go that high on what I'd consider an "upgrade" to an existing character on the Classics shelf.Counterpunch wrote:Mkall wrote:He looks nice, but he's surely not Blurr. Re: SXS R-02 - Blurr
Oh! Using Delicate Warrior in a promo shot even after Takara's Arcee is out? I never thought I'd see it used again.
But my mind isn't changed. Springer, Cloud Hot Rod, and this Blurr are all just too large at voyager size.

I flat out think she looks better.

I disagree entirely. Especially when they're put in contrast with other Movie style bots.

DW does look better, I gotta agree too. At least ion Bot mode. But usually it's all "new new new".
*looks up the scale chart*
well ... maybe you're right about Springer not being oversized at voyager. Although, if we're going by that then this Blurr is still oversized.

I already know what's going to happen in October. Gonna be paling around with Counterpunch, and then suddenly, there's going to be one of these in my hand and less money in my wallet.

So I took some pics... and SXS Blurr is a pretty worthy heir to G1 Blurr in my estimation.

Everyone carries a bucket of crazy of some size. here is where I empty mine gradually:http://primordialbadgersmediahoard.blogspot.com/

This picture isn't quite fair - you really need to compare SXS Blurr with the United version:

Yes, it's a re-skin of Drift. But to an extent, that's OK, given the way IDW Blurr's shoulders flow backward into his thrusters. In my mind, the scabbards are really the loudest part of the mold that points to Drift. Otherwise, it's fine.
That all said, if SXS's take gets swept away by clearance frenzy, I'd be happy to pick it up.
