*points up*
You're funny.
I'm not sure what to think about that casting choice, but Star Trek's to the point where they've run themselves so far into the ground that it doesn't seem to matte what they do with it these days.

I don't think so. Enterprise wasn't nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be, I actually really liked it. I would love to see a Starfleet Academy series, but that's just me.
Zachary Quinto would make a perfect Vulcan in general. We'll see how he does with Spock.

There is a bright light behind this new Trek movie...
Rick Berman is not involved with it.
Not that it matters to me. He did fine with DS9. The others... meh. But his influence on Trek after Roddenberry died seems to be the lynch pin to many fan's bad feelings about the current state of Trek.

Brannon Braga was the beginning of the end for me (all of his little tributes to Bozeman weren't much help either, and I'm from Montana). By the time Berman took up with him, that was the tipping point.
I don't know if they're just that bad (well, they are) or I grew up and Trek became far too silly for me to sit through.
This movie is probably going to be a rental.

Motto:
"Laugh hard. Run fast. Be kind."
Weapon:
Shoulder Mounted Rocket Launcher
Ooh, awesome choice. He does kind of look like a young Leonard if you squint.
But seriously, now all of a sudden I'm interested in seeing this movie.
