Anyhow, if this is legit, neat! I need to get that 5G at some point here.

Waking up my reaction is "**** ... how am I going to get this through customs because of the stupid Australian gun laws?"
Would you have a friend in Japan that could, maybe, pull a Radar O'Reilly and disassemble Megs and send him to you in about 4 shipments?
Nope. Laws may have changed though, and I might just go through Premium Collectables as they have better contacts and may be able to get him in.

Would it not have the stupid orange 'cap' in the barrel?

That's for toys.
Depending on which state you're in, he can be considered a "replica firearm" and you may actually require a firearms license or at the very least, own a gun cabinet he could be locked in.
These were the laws when the initial MP Megatron was released (with stories of a number of them being intercepted by customs and destroyed), things may have changed.

As it happens, I DO have the original Masterpiece Megatron, and I have considered retro reviews. The thing is with MP Megs, his transformation is so dang complicated I'd have to spend 20 minutes on that alone! And while I may be immortal, not very many others are - and really long demonstrations of transformations tend to try the patience of viewers. Still, with judicious editing, it may be tolerable. And since I judge stuff all the time, who knows?

I'll be interested to see if this pans - out as it doesn't stop Takara from still making it anyway as well if they wanted too. But it looks like the KO might get released first.
[if the rumour is true anyway]

I can't see Takara letting them get away with that. That's a gross infringement on their IP.

Yeah, China doesn't give a hoot about ip infringement.

Megatron wasn't exactly Mr. Macho in the cartoon:Delta Magnus wrote:In all honesty? Despotron looks better. This looks a bit too...wimpy. The cannon looks weird, the proportions are all off...Nah thanks.

If that is indeed the case, a Takara Trailbreaker maybe next after Grapple.
