1: This line is consistently on point with amazing execution of G1 molds. Yes, I said G1, that's what it was started for.
2: Even the molds which had QC issues, like MP-09, which is still frickin' amazingly done, don't have the hollow backs and thighs that all other lines are suffering from.
3: The early years of G1 are being serviced. The '84 Decepticon lineup is done, whether or not a re-do of Megatron is done or not.
4: Star Saber is an amazingly popular character in Japan. Takara and Hasbro both did anniversary polls. They got Star Saber, we got Windblade. How many japanese fans are bitching about that? Probably not many.
When I see what's been done to the other lines, like Bayverse, or the shrinking sizes or hollow parts, I thank God that this line is still there. I'd love to see an MP Galvatron. I'm pretty sure we will, too, if this line continues, but right now, I'm going to keep shovelling money at TT, take my screen accurate Bumblebee, Ultra Magnus, and everything else they're pumping out, and smile. I may even get Gold Megatron. Whatever it takes to keep this line going.

I agree with most of what you have to say, this line is amazing and the quality is definitely a step up from the norm. The 84 Decepticon line is not done, we have not gotten the figure that I am anxious to see executed as a masterpiece, Reflector. I would love to see a Reflector I know there is zero repaint potential and the character is not real popular, but he would be amazing. I will continue to buy these amazing figures, prior to masterpiece expanding I collected Alternators because of how amazing they were especially in car mode. I rank masterpiece on the same level. I cannot wait to see what comes next.

Seriously, you are judging the colors based on a cell phone photo that you are viewing on a computer screen?! You are aware that a lot of the way the colors look will vary from computer screen to computer screen right? The post title was size comparison photos not final color, as they may change a little before it's released. If you want to see a brighter red on it then brighten your computer screen.

Your opinion is validated.
I don't see what the problem was with your opinion.
What you have to understand that this is a very unique piece because it breaks the chain of what is being released, G1 cars, trucks, and planes from three decades ago.
So yeah the fore arms, well that is what it is. Having owned the Robot Masters version, he had the same type of arms.
Well F**k arms, I'm glad we got a Masterpiece toy that is not from '84.

Always wondered if the bellyachers actually can afford to get one and not just doing so to console themselves from not getting one.

Maybe it's a coping mechanism. Personally, I just cry myself to sleep for not being able to afford Star Saber.

This isn't being spiteful as maybe I have another outlook in life but I do refrain from criticizing a product I have no intention of getting. I regret not getting the other MP cars because of fund shortage, I also had to make do with Scooby snacks after getting a certain set which I have to weigh/choose carefully

Star saber that is.

I regret not getting the other MP cars because of fund shortage, I also had to make do with Scooby snacks after getting a certain set which I have to weigh/choose carefullyI didn't like TFA. Though I did get several Tomy versions of Optimus and Arcee. Aesthetic wise, could have been better but I didn't insult them OT, at least not until there really is a design flaw.
There's no real point in critisizing a TF unless you're planning on owning it indeed. I mean, you can say that something is ugly or whatever- but you wouldn't buy it anyway. So it doesn't matter how it looks or someone else thinks it looks.
The only valid form of critisism for a toy is the design flaw. That can be a 'make or break' for me. Floppy joints, rust, gold plastic, thin tabs on heavy joints, launching heads, flaking paint and all those other fun surprises.

I would like that too. I know Star Saber is a special consideration. Other than him not being a real favorite of mine, I'm not upset about him really. What I don't like are the little extra stuff no one really asked for. Transforming pens? Looks cool but not really what I want to get. That sort of stuff.
I just don;t want them to be too distracted. That's a little pushy of me, but it's how I kinda feel.
Sentinel does the pens (and the giant non-transforming Scorponok).
You know, Takara and Hasbro license out the TF brand quite a bit. They're not personally invested in every TF product that comes out.
Ah, didn't realize they were licensed. I withdraw that criticism. They seem to be more focused than I thought, so it's all good.
And as for people not liking the way they did his character in IDW...I liked that. It was different. The squeaky clean warrior is so boring. If it wasn't for IDW I wouldn't be interested in Star Saber. (I watched but didn't like victory).
One little thing though: I think it's perfectly valid to make a post in which you dislike the look of a toy, getting it or not. How many posts are there of people saying they hate the bayformers and wont get them? There are a lot. It's their opinion (I share it for the most part) and they would be able to post.
Just like I can post that I kinda think Star Saber looks a little dull.
While I love G1 I also love new innovations and takes on the characters.
I prefer official Hasbro releases of stuff for the most part
I'm not a huge fan of Japanese original Transformers media or designs.
It's easier for me to say which are my LEAST favorite toy lines: Beast Machines, Robots in Disguise.

You all jumped on him for his statement about the forearms. I dont collect Masterpiece. I only just recently got MP-10. You're point is moot. Im kinda dissapointed with how everyone reacted to what he said. You all are funny like that.
Money is an object but what i collect may not be what u collect. Being able to afford or not afford something is besides the point. Yu should be entitiled to post your opinion.

I was wrong. Star Saber actually looks really good in comparison. There's a lot of work here that I didn't realize. I'm more impressed with it. The original toy looks awful. This looks pretty amazing in comparison. It's not on my "must have" list, but I think I can see where all the love for it is coming from.

That's very impressive to admit! It's really hard at times to make this type of statement. (Just ask my wife!) Virtual props to you!
And really, I think the overall negative reaction to the criticism was the way the original comments were stated. (Not you, Optimizzy, talking about Mr_Autobot411.) I know I appreciate criticism when it is backed up with specifics. Just calling something "fugly" and saying something makes someone want to puke is a bit over the top, and invites the type of response we saw in the thread.
Personally, I saw Victory recently and had trouble sitting through the formulaic episodes. (Not like G1 wasn't like that, but I was, like 10, when I first saw it.) I can see the appeal of Star Saber for the fans of Victory. For me, I think this figure fricken rocks! It has amazing engineering in all the right places. Sure, the Popeye big forearms are a bit much, but the engineering necessary to make the figure look good in all modes is amazing, and compromises needed to be made. Additionally, I may have chosen a better color scheme than the Gundam-esque white with red and blue highlights, but this is true to the original source material, so not really a valid complaint, in my opinion. (I'd love to see a purple and black Shattered Glass version, though I don't know that I could afford it.) I have no idea how I'm going to display this guy. I love every mode about him.
So, keep the pictures coming! Each round makes me more and more glad I sprung for a preorder.
