Desslok2201 wrote:Wow. As much as I'm mystified by the hate towards SS, and to the progression of the line, please remember a few points when bitching:
1: This line is consistently on point with amazing execution of G1 molds. Yes, I said G1, that's what it was started for.
2: Even the molds which had QC issues, like MP-09, which is still frickin' amazingly done, don't have the hollow backs and thighs that all other lines are suffering from.
3: The early years of G1 are being serviced. The '84 Decepticon lineup is done, whether or not a re-do of Megatron is done or not.
4: Star Saber is an amazingly popular character in Japan. Takara and Hasbro both did anniversary polls. They got Star Saber, we got Windblade. How many japanese fans are bitching about that? Probably not many.
When I see what's been done to the other lines, like Bayverse, or the shrinking sizes or hollow parts, I thank God that this line is still there. I'd love to see an MP Galvatron. I'm pretty sure we will, too, if this line continues, but right now, I'm going to keep shovelling money at TT, take my screen accurate Bumblebee, Ultra Magnus, and everything else they're pumping out, and smile. I may even get Gold Megatron. Whatever it takes to keep this line going.

Your opinion is validated.
I don't see what the problem was with your opinion.
What you have to understand that this is a very unique piece because it breaks the chain of what is being released, G1 cars, trucks, and planes from three decades ago.
So yeah the fore arms, well that is what it is. Having owned the Robot Masters version, he had the same type of arms.
Well F**k arms, I'm glad we got a Masterpiece toy that is not from '84.

Always wondered if the bellyachers actually can afford to get one and not just doing so to console themselves from not getting one.

Maybe it's a coping mechanism. Personally, I just cry myself to sleep for not being able to afford Star Saber.

Yeah sure RhA. Not afford indeed . If I know you, you'll move heaven and Cybertron to get one. Star saber that is.
This isn't being spiteful as maybe I have another outlook in life but I do refrain from criticizing a product I have no intention of getting. I regret not getting the other MP cars because of fund shortage, I also had to make do with Scooby snacks after getting a certain set which I have to weigh/choose carefully I didn't like TFA. Though I did get several Tomy versions of Optimus and Arcee. Aesthetic wise, could have been better but I didn't insult them OT, at least not until there really is a design flaw.
Kinda backwards. Was '85 in Japan, and mail-away in '87.Desslok2201 wrote:Wth all due respect, padfoo, the '84 decepticons are done; Reflector was a mail away in '85, and I think he was '86 in Japan.

I would like that too. I know Star Saber is a special consideration. Other than him not being a real favorite of mine, I'm not upset about him really. What I don't like are the little extra stuff no one really asked for. Transforming pens? Looks cool but not really what I want to get. That sort of stuff.
I just don;t want them to be too distracted. That's a little pushy of me, but it's how I kinda feel.
Sentinel does the pens (and the giant non-transforming Scorponok).
You know, Takara and Hasbro license out the TF brand quite a bit. They're not personally invested in every TF product that comes out.
Optimizzy wrote:You know, after really looking at it and especially after comparing it to the original, I withdraw my statement.
I was wrong. Star Saber actually looks really good in comparison. There's a lot of work here that I didn't realize. I'm more impressed with it. The original toy looks awful. This looks pretty amazing in comparison. It's not on my "must have" list, but I think I can see where all the love for it is coming from.

I love Skyblast! But...shouldn't there be more purple? Or is that wishful thinking on my part.
