Where did Takara claim that? I thought this was just supposed to be one of those oddball exclusives they tend to do (like Dark Guard Optimus Prime was in the Transformers: Prime line etc.). Usually when they put out a more show accurate deco of a figure from a main line, it gets released in the main line, not as an exclusive. At least if my recollection is correct, that's generally how they do it. The exclusives are usually just oddball repaints or homages to more obscure stuff/different continuities etc. like with the G1 colored Dinobots they're releasing.

This colour scheme makes no sense to me. It also doesn't make the figure look any better either.
MegaDump wrote:"He has proven difficult to capture and nearly impossible to defeat. When an enemy does get the best of him, it's never for long." Hmmm... Unless you think about how he was imprisoned by Lockdown. Clearly he was defeated, and with a Dinosaur beast mode he'd presumably scanned and reformed into at least 65 million years ago, when dinosaurs were around. "Never for long," unless you count this 65 million year imprisonment. Then there's the "nearly impossible to defeat," although Optimus Prime manages it with one knockdown?

Grimlock didn't scan a dinosaur. He probably doesn't even have anything to do with Earth's dinosaurs.

Why fold up? Judging by the dimensions, it'll go over Optimus' head if it can be folded up. Either way you are going to be stuck with one of the biggest backpack ever, so why not leave it down and hide the ugliness?

I'd rather have a large, somewhat-integrated backpack than a giant chunk of truck kibble that just hangs loosely from his waist. Plus, it can't be any worse than the First Edition's backpack of doom.
Just another typical TakaraTomy Transformers ad for the collector-based Japanese market.Siger wrote:Sabrblade's video cracked me up so much. What the hell was I watching?![]()
