It's not the face I'm talking about, it's the whole thing.
He was talking about the headsculpt. And, about the whole design of Megs, which part of him was innacurate to the show/movie/toy? Even 3rd party Apollyon and Hegemon borrowed heavily from the lanky original (only buffed up)
Agreed, but they took those ideas and did it right.
I do think they could've done better with MP Megs though if they had more time to work on it.
Ironhide definitely looks better than this Megs, but still I have higher priorities.

That's what I mean, The base design of Megs is one of the iffyest. How the heck do you make a buffed figure in such a compacted alternate form? Arrgh!
Btw, SS. Don't let the negativity towards IH deter you. That's my main point. Read/watch the reviews(beware of slanted ones) if possible but at times the figs are all sold out. Don't let the opportunity to own one pass by just because some have a chip on the shoulder on his face or hip panels.
As I often mention, seeing it in person is different from the PC monitor.

I'm sure you guys could find a MP Megatron thread out there to discuss MP Megatron in.
This. So much this. And as fenrir72 said, be wary of slanted reviews. Heck, just go with my attitude and buy whatever you like, and if they don't turn out to be good figures, you can get rid of them.
Ironhide? He may not be perfect, but I'm quite happy with him. I don't get MP figures for the play value, I get them because they look good in the collection, and he looks good enough for me!

Yah! Bullseye! But...........once you put in the gimmicks (his abdomen for example is exposed) while in gunform. The original toy is collapsed. And the chamber for the heart of Cybertron and folding in his fists and foot. Not to mention the head and barrel chamber that folds out on his back.
And...........he is so hollow
Btw, I own the TT version of that fig which really floors the HB version. Anyway, hoping TT gets around and designs a MP Megatron ver 2 soon. And Ratchet by June 2016 (it's coming guys.you know it is
Edit:
Deviating a bit. Tracks is scheduled for Early November 2015. Iirc he was for September. A delay of extra 2 months. I'm assuming IH is more intricate in engineering transformation. Maybe more transforming parts.
He is given a street date release of January 2016. Maybe by the 1st week of February. Given the info we have plus factoring the possible delays, I predict he'll be out by March 2016.

I didn't say he's a bad figure, I just mean that I have to pick the best ones out of the bunch. I don't have any MPs yet, so it's quite hard for me to decide who to get first. Personally, I think I need to focus on the car bots first, and at least get whatever versions of the Lambor and Prowl molds I can. I also want Wheeljack, and a lot of others. I have a limited amount of figures to get each year so it's really a pain.

I've never picked up any masterpieces, and while I certainly wouldn't start with him, I was wondering, how do they hold up as 'action figures'? I certainly wouldn't be playing with it, but how do they hold up to being fiddled with, and transformed a lot?

I meant quality wise, I've heard some don't stand up to handling, like starscream (2nd version, chest assembly)

Varies from figure to figure really. Most are solid, parts move easily (but not too loose), you might find a couple can be a little heavy and if they're a little more elaborate you may get sick of holding them.

Concerning MP-11, I heard that he suffers the Blitzwing shoulder syndrome. I don't own MP-11 so chalk the issue to an inherent design flaw.
Quality? MP-10 1st edition had some QC issues (the foot pseudo tail lats are misassembled (in my version) that's why I had it changed. The next version I received, well the wheels hidden in his lower shins kinda melted deformed. The other cars I own, Exhaust, Grimlock,BB and WJ, SW, all the cassettes are without issues, Starsaber had a flaw were the foot mold has an ugly scratch.

I think I figured out a solution that could have made this figure look better. Perhaps if they made the sled a part of his altmode like on the G1/Timelines toy instead of as a completely separate piece, that might have freed up a lot of the main figure's excess mass to not make him need to look so fat and chunky. The sled could have even taken the wheels away from the main figure.
After all, Rodimus Prime transformed with his trailer becoming his legs in the cartoon, but the MP went the toy-based route instead of trying to replicate this impossibility:

This. In fact - its how Ratchet transforms in the first episode.
Its not parts forming, either, in my opinion.

G1 toy face found on Transformers MP 27 Ironhide
- Motto: "'till All Are One"
Fellow Seibertronian Cyberpath has posted some interesting pictures of a test figure of MP Ironhide. These come from the new listing on Takaratomymall (only available to Japan residents) and the unpainted figure reveals more details of the mold than ever before. The most novel of these details is the callback to the G1 toy's sticker face peering through the windshield. This should be fun for all those who enjoyed that face in the G1 toy.
