Sweeeeet. I just got the Robot Masters version for my birthday. He's always been a cool looking character, and even though I still haven't watched Victory, he's one of my favorite designs. If they make a Victory Leo to combine with him I may never need to track down the G1 versions, even if they are my two remaining grails.

Of course, I somehow fear that it will just be a reissue in a nice MP-style box, but hopefully not, and we get a fully-articulated, full-featured MP Star Saber.

Would be possible, actually. Convoy had Spike, and King Exkaiser had Kouta, plus his dog Mario. :lol:

The Beast Era Convoys were fine just as they are. The only real difference would be some minor sculpting differences, some more intricacy in the transformation, and maybe a couple accessories here and there.

Some "REAL" leadership he displayed at the end. He practically shoved Dai Atlas into command and left the Autobots high & dry. And he wasn't dying either.

Anywho, I'm not gonna complain. Star Saber is one of those G1 figures that have been awaiting Masterpiece treatment.

I'm curious if they're going to try to keep this in "scale", given that he isn't based on an actual vehicle. Someone out there got an animation mockup or something of his height compared to Optimus?

I don't think they go for alt mode scale in MPs, just bot mode scale. Otherwise, Starscream and his buddies would have to be WAY bigger (or the cars would have to be WAY smaller).

Star Saber is pretty cool. I used to have the figure (not sure if it was original or KO) but it was fun, and definitely not what I was expecting. He should make for a cool looking MP, esp in alt mode. I still think Super Fire Convoy was the coolest looking in both modes, and the way he suited up was pretty rad.

I certainly hoped for it. I never expect the Internet to make sense, that way when it does, I'm pleasantly surprised. I can't believe people are complaining that Fort Max got last place. He'd be out of scale, he'd have to be, and so people would complain about that if we did get him, and even then, they'd feel the need to make him at least as large as the original. This is a Japanese vote for Japanese customers. You guys are aware of the size of most Japanese apartments, yes? Unless MP Fort Max had a bed alt mode, I couldn't see a lot of folks in the target market bothering to try and fit him into their homes.

I certainly would not have minded an Armada Prime. I'd imagine the transformation with the trailer would be similar to the upcoming Ultra Magnus release. Having said, that Star Saber will be a mighty fine figure if the recent quality of MP figures is anything to go by. Maybe a contest for best villain leader is next? I wonder who'd win.

I'd definitely be interested in seeing a Masterpiece Super Fire Convoy. Outside of upgrading the hands the figure is freaking near perfection as it is.

Aside from the limited points of articulation, the Starsaber toy did actually do things the cartoon could. (Except talk and wet his bed (no kidding.........read the end credits theme song)

Brain master mode "Courage" form separate

Brainmaster mode merged to minijet

Brainmaster mode merged to V-star

Chromed blade can be removed from the built in scabbard

V-star has a base mode of sorts (not seen in the anime iirc)

Combines with Victory Leo plus a show specific super jet mode with Victory Leo.

No one is forcing anybody to buy him. And, it was a Japan based poll so "gaijin" opinions wouldn't matter anyway.
