Thats not the real price of the toy, you shouldnt judge it by that. Thats just the price americans have to pay if they want to buy from TF Source and not ship him from japan. It has nothing to do with the worth of the toy or how much it cost to make.
The real price is probably the same as any leader figure, so 50$. Has as much if not more detail than the leader seekers, so it sounds fair.

And the altmode pic seems to be unpainted, as the robot mode parts visible in altmode appear to lack the painted details that we see painted on the same parts in robot mode.
