Whoa. Where the **** did this Optimus come from, and why don't we have it in the states?!

Meanwhile, I think it's safe to say that I'll be getting Takara's Jazz. However, I don't notice any major differences between our Sideswipe and their Sideswipe, just some minor detailing on the crotch and wheels and a different shade of red, so I might just grab the Hasbro version. I need time to consider, first. I mean, you'd think I save money by getting the Hasbro version, but that **** Optimus just **** comes out of **** nowhere and it's like....****!

Wait a sec, so that Optimus is a big toy, has electronics, great articulation, and not a simplified transformation... could this be the first actual leader class toy to incorporate all this since Leader Sentinel Prime?!

Also, while I am still not sure about the figure itself, the paint apps on Takara's Jazz put Hasbro to shame. I mean, we all thought it looked naked, but this is just sad:

We saw that Optimus in a previous news post.

Huh?! When have we seen this Optimus before?! That thing looks fully articulated and HUGE!! Maybe I missed out on this, but please tell me this thing is articulated and not a piece of plastic crap.

I know it's common to say how much takara is better but man, using 3 of the same toy (maybe 4) to show his transformation in a display panel is pretty great.

DAMMIT!!!!!!! Jazz is sold out on amiami, after what, not even 5 hours?! They still have optimus though but I dont want to just have him shipped alone.

Missed that article. This guy looks amazing, I love RID15's design for him.

Is there a picture of his vehicle mode?

Someone asked if there was an extension for the axe, well it seems from the picture below, that he is holding it like a hatchet where you plug the top of the axe on top of his hand while the long hilt (which may double as a sword) is plugged at the bottom.

That's a pretty sexy truck mode. I really like how the trailer becomes part of him, instead of coming off.

His legs become the trailer in every single toy of RID/TAV Optimus. The only difference is that this one is functional.

Does anyone know what the "200" on RID Prime's box refers to; it's not 200 voice clips/sfx, is it? He is so much better than any 1 or 3 step version we've gotten here, so far. His trailer mode is a cool mix of StarConvoy & Action Master Optimus Armored Convoy, down to being able to seat 2 Deluxes in his trailer! I wonder why Hasbro hasn't made a better Voyager or Leader version of OP yet.

I think only 1 deluxe car can fit in his trailer. The two you see are in their robot mode sitting on it. Though if 2 could fit, that would be pretty awesome. Its so weird Hasbro isnt going this route, this is still very much a kid's toy after all, especially with the interaction with others and electronics and ... oh right, Hasbro doesnt do those on leader class toys anymore...

Its kinda sad that the big RID hasbro optimi are different scales of the same 1 step figure.

I cannot see the really catchy differences between this Sideswipe and Hasbros. The things that stick out to me are the bottom of the feet are painted red, which actually looks worse than the Hasbro one since the black sticks out better, and that little hood paint. Now mind you the paints actually match, but for me that is not a big issue. Overall, I'm still very happy with the hasbro version. Now that Optimus though, that is a nice figure.

Hasbro's sideswipe had a great deco from the start and the only complaints I heard were of the actual mold. Does yours hold together well? The main reason to getting a takara version would be more to get a tighter and better fitting version of the mold if that aspect of the figure was reworked. The deco is almost secondary priority if that part of the figure is fixed.
