From what I can see, it looks like with Nightbird and Slipstream, the light gray plastics on these prototypes are from their mold forbearers, while the dark gray plastics represent newly or remolded parts. With Blackarachnia, the clear translucent plastics seem to be the remolded parts, while the opaque plastics (both dark and light grays) are from the original sculpt of the mold.

It looks like they might clip over the forearms, no retooling necessary.
Considering Waspinator and Inferno apparently scanned female insects for their alts, heck, it's downright traditional! And a male Black Widow spider is so un-intimidating that any enemy will drop their guard.Convoy wrote:I'm totally okay with her taking on a male altmode. IMO, I think Nightbird and Slipstream's proportions will be near-identical to Arcee and Windblade, since only the weapons, head and chest seem to have been altered (even then, it's only some minor aesthetic changes, and nothing structural).
Out of curiosity, I googled some pics of TFA Blackarachnia; maybe it's just me, but the retooled version seems to have better proportions overall.

And hopefully this won't further be made an issue out of the fig. Being that I've been assessing many a patient's physical proportions for 2 decades, the B,W and H sizes unless in a medical context, does nothing to me. Once I'm out of E.R. mode though.....

LG15 Nightbird
LG16 Slipstream
LG17 Black Widow
Any Anime-Export horror stories? Do they generally cost more to ship? Any insight would be appreciated.

I buy from Anime-Export all the time because they are usually the first to put up preorders and they sell out fast because they are usually also the cheapest. The problem with them is you have to pay first, kind of like Robotkingdom. I've gotten everything I've ordered and shipping is on par with everyone else (HLJ, Amiami)

EMS supposedly delivers to the front doorstep and is faster + tracking. In the country I'm assigned in, you have to picj it up the Airport hub and you get slammed with a lot of taxes.
william-james88 wrote:NuclearConvoy wrote:Is the difference between EMS and SAL shipping usually really big?
Its double the cost.
And now that they are on amiami, they are as easy to get as any other figure out there at a similar price too. So I can now ask myself: do I actually want these. Would I buy these if I saw them in stores? And the answer is no (at least not at full retail price). I hope no one thinks less of me but I only know Blackarachnia of the three. While getting the arcee mold would be fun, I have no clue who that character is, and I would rather have arcee in that mold before another character. As for Slipstream, I have somewhat of an idea and the Generations Jetfire mold has made me less apprehensive about fake chests but I greatly dislike the windblade mold so that’s a no as well.
And now, for Blackarachnia, I find it a bit redundant. Dont get me wrong, I dearly want a Generations Blackarachnia. She is literally my number one pick. But, I already have a blackarachnia figure based on this mold: animated Blackarachnia. And she is obviously way more show accurate to her animated counterpart than this redeco/retool would be to beast wars. To me this isn’t that different from the upcoming RID Grimlock toy redeco’d in G1 colors (who is also a slight retool). More of an homage than an actual generations blackarachnia. The only difference is that it is done years later. And I really don’t like those mandibles in alt mode. Those reasons take a bit of excitement out of this figure. I am still hopeful for a full fledged new Blackarachnia figure (and Terrorsaur) and I really hope this figure isn’t made knowing there isn’t a new mold coming out in the next 5 years (come on, next year is the 20th anniversary of Beast Wars!).

So, think I'm going to change my shipping option to SAL. Has anybody ever had trouble receiving SAL shipments from HLJ in Canada?
Nightbird, FYI, is a reference to a G1 ninja robot from the original cartoon that wasn't originally a Transformer but a human made humanoid robot that was more or less Transformers sized.

Thanks!
And Kanrabat has lockdown coming from HLJ at SAL shipping so watch for his post in the toy haul to know how that worked out when he posts.
Thanks for the info on nightbird.
