While I like the idea of the Legends coming with a partner, I'm was hoping they wouldn't be based on the Headmaster Juniors, so they would get proper toys and not just heads

Well, the Headmaster Jrs. weren't picked by chance: back in G1 they were simply the Japanese releases of the 2nd-year, smaller Headmasters, namely Hosehead as Cab, Nightbeat as Minerva, Siren (aka Loudmouth) as Goshooter, Horri-Bull (aka Terri-Bull) as Bullhorn, Fangry as Wilder and Squeezeplay (aka Crashbash) as Cancer. In fact, the stand-alone Titan Masters are exclusively from that particular group I've noticed, we're only missing Hosehead and Fangry.

What's interesting to me is that Nightbeat isn't being released as Minerva, even though the other figures have their Japanese names. I wonder if this suggests that Hasbro and Takara are planning a separate deluxe figure of her.

They might think that Nightbeat's screaming angry face isn't suitably ladylike enough for Minerva.

I agree, I'd like to see more of Dai Atlas, he didn't get much showtime at all and in the IDW comics...well, Primus hated him.

Dai atlas never got much of a good deal in the first place as Zone wasn't very good to be fair. I wouldn't care much for a redco of him that was deluxe size, he would need voyager class or bigger but I can't see anyone caring (including takara) outside of club or convention exclusives. Star Saber is a much more important character.

Oh wow, dai atlas from brainstorm would be just bad. A legends IDW Star Saber from Generations Voyager Brainstorm would probably work.

I agree in preferring a larger sized toy for Dai Atlas, but a Deluxe-sized one would go well with the Deluxe-sized RobotMasters Star Saber mold.

Shocking find! I couldn't get a picture but I saw my first ever Legends toy in store, at my local TRU they were stocking Legends Arcee for $50 AUS! I gotta pick her up.

Oh wow, dai atlas from brainstorm would be just bad. A legends IDW Star Saber from Generations Voyager Brainstorm would probably work.

I can also see comics Jhiaxus being an option for the mold and being an easier candidate for Headmasters gimmickry.

I was fine with the Hasbro version but this one is so much nicer. Although I really don't want to spend the extra $10+ for this version.

You know, sometimes I don't like Takara's decos because they're so slavish to the cartoon - I really don't like their Arcee and Springer because of this.
But this is a case of Hasbro being way too slavish to the toy, and Takara's just turns out infinitely better.
