eh, no less worse looking than official 'base' modes for actual base mode Transformers and at least these guys have actual proper alt-modes anyways unlike most base Transformers. Is why I always preferred Scorponok over Metroplex or Fortress Maximus cos he had a decent robot mode and a cool mobile alt mod of a scorpion and the base was just a bonus. Fort Max always looked like a random collection of blocks no matter what configuration.
I have anxiety, depression and aspergers syndrome so my behaviour can be erratic. I don't mean offense to anyone. Just very picky about my Transformers collecting. You're all cool! 
Likes: Bayverse, Marvel UK G1, Geoff Senior art, '86 movie (more for style/soundtrack rather than Star Wars plot)
Dislikes: Bumblebee movie (lousy rehashed dumb crud), TFA, G1 cartoon, IDW G1, BW/BM, MP. The entire concept of Autobot Megatron

It does make me lament the "base modes" of some of these figures. The new Optimus Prime's base mode, for example, doesn't look much better. Even Fort Max's modes aren't as impressive as the price would deserve.
The original Fort Max at least brought a lot of play value to his base mode.

I agree with the idea that Takara's head looks better. But, the purple on the Hasbro one looks glorious in the pics. I'll have him in hand soon, so I hope it looks as good as Seib's galleries!

Yeah that's my issue. Takara's looks better as far as the head and such, but TR Galv's purple matches just so beautifully with CW Cyclonus. I am sad.
I hope maybe Fakebusker on Shapeways makes a fuller helmet piece for Galvatron that wraps around the head more, even though the purples probably wouldn't match that well.

This is why drunken adults should not be allowed to play with childrens toys, the race to 100 dong jokes begins! On another note time to break out the model paint cause nucleon is getting a makeover, takaras version looks amazing and i am just a little ashamed to own the hasbro version now.

Seibertron Cyberpath has dropped in to let us know what Yuki has to say to us today. And today, he brings in Hardhead and Skull, and decides to show them off with their little drone buddies.
Hardhead's drone is the little tank figure that will be coming with Terribull AKA Horribull and Skytread AKA Flywheels coated in a green that matched up with his tank mode nicely, making for a double whammy of awesome green tank power.
Skull meanwhile brings in his little buddy whom transforms into a bird and a little T-Rex. Hasbro is using the molds for their Crashbash AKA Squeezeplay and Clobber AKA Grimlock. Skull's little buddy uses the pinkish color that Skull has as well as some purple not found on Skull.

These look really cool and are nicely color coordinated. If I remember correctly, and please someone correct me if I am not remembering right, Hasbro's are not so nicely color coded to these specific figures.
