I'd been holding off getting Hasbro's new Optimus to see what Takara did with Ginrai. Seeing both side by side, however, I'm feeling torn as to which one to actually get, if either at all.

I do like the improvements Takara made to the arm panels to give the hands full clearance, but otherwise I think I prefer the feet and chest on the on the Hasbro version. While in vehicle mode I do like Takara's more traditional cab, I think I prefer the color layout on Hasbro's trailer. I don't know... if I had the money I'd consider getting both and seeing if I could just kitbash them together to get the best of both worlds, but as is I'm just not entirely sold on either.

Thanks for understanding guys! And plus, we dont know what either looks like yet. If you can get the desired effect for a lower cost I think thats a win

The feet look pretty bizarre and I kiiiinda prefer Hasbro's cab, but if they make a separate God Bomber figure to combine it will be so worth it.

I want something that's an update of the G1 toy to better modern toy standards. This looks closer to that than Hasbro's offering. Still no small robot mode though... :BANG_HEAD:

Still, I like this a 1000x better than the Hasbro version.

That's what I'm going for too. And having the Hasbro version makes me want this version so much more.

Ginrai..Convoy..some characters really deserves the "treatment".......the Takara "treatment". Sure not MP but a mass produced not limited but amped up upgrade from a bas mold.........FTW!

it does address my biggest grip with the hasbro version - the lack of ankle tilts but i think i prefer the hasbro version overall. Of course it depends on what takara have up their sleeve re god bomber etc.

As a kid I watched the ginrai series dubbed in italian. Power master prime was always the one character I wanted to see stories of as he was my defect leader in my toy collection (and the back of the box art featuring him looked amazing). However I remember being very let down by the cartoon as there was no continuity at all with the american series from what I could tell....
