This is the first time we've seen this right? I had no idea the whole head was white and blue, I'm not sure how I feel about it. I mean the helmet covers it, and it's not a deal breaker but it's unexpected.

Molding Twincast that way was a dumb move, it really takes a lot out of the figure having all of those random blue hinges. Would have been smarter to just paint Twincast instead.

Well, Japan is presenting this Blaster toy as an evolved form from his Twincast body. Unlike Hasbro's version, Takara has cemented an in-universe purpose into it that ties it directly into pre-established fiction. Wouldn't it make sense for there to be some traces of his immediate previous form integrated into his newest upgraded form, as a small nod to where Blaster has come from to reach this point in his life?

I think it's supposed to be Perceptor. At least, before Takara's recolour.

I think I was the first person here to point out that it was a Perceptor face under Blaster's helmet. What I meant was did they paint the face to try to make it look like Skyfire. It looks like they did.

Though people originally thought that Blaster's Titan Master head was based on Perceptor, it actually seems to sculpted (not colored, but sculpted) more in homage to the headsculpt of Binaltech Asterisk Broad Blast.




Blaster's pack-in Legends comic seems to agree with this as there's a close up panel of Blaster's helmet-less head that also contains a thought bubble that flashes back to his Binaltech Asterisk body.

Because the head is in Twincast's colors. The larger body isn't the real Blaster, just a lifeless Transtector that Twincast, the head, controls.

Though, for clarity's sake, this toy isn't being treated as Blaster's cartoon body proper, but is instead treated as an evolved form of that body, an upgrade from his Twincast body that he got in The Headmasters cartoon. A third form for Cartoon Blaster overall.

There was a lot of continuity-rich material in both Kiss Players Position and Teletraan 15 Go! Go!. And Sakamoto is a continuity nut himself who loves filling in continuity holes and referencing other materials to add to the continuity overall.
