Maybe not an exact retool, but I think some pieces are re-used. Look at the legs and the torso piece. To me it looks like they took them and just altered the details. I could be wrong though.

The first pic I saw was the vehicle mode, not attached to OP. I thought, "look, someone is making a super deformed Godbomber. That's nice. I'm happy for those people who like super deformed, though it's just not for me." Then I saw the bot mode, and damn, I thought that looked good. What is this, a third party offering? Then I saw it was a Takara Legends figure. Wait, did Hasbro already release this?

Then I saw the pics of Takara Legends Ginrai towing the armor. Wow, that looks much better than my initial impressions were. I wonder if it armors up Ginrai...

Then I scrolled down in the thread. It's beautiful! Maybe the wings are a tad too high, but overall, I really like it.

So...preordered!

Wow, this thing is gorgeous. Combined vehicle mode looks so sick. Glad I haven't picked up Hasbro PMP yet, but not really liking the fact I have to hunt down an affordable Ginrai. Because there's no way I'm paying anything close to the $95 asking price from domestic retailers. Takara, why do you do this to me?

That's not how retools work. Retools share exact parts and engineering to various degrees. Also, Godbomber has to split apart in order to combine with Super Ginrai, which is another argument to him being a whole new mold.

And I don't know, God Ginrai looks a bit... rough around the proverbial edges. I think it's the bulk...

If you dont like the huge handling fee from local importers, you can always import him yourself for $55 plus shipping. Takara's price is quite fair.

Local importers bought these toys back when the US dolar was lower, but now it has strengthened since so you are better off importing.

I would imagine the shipping be at least $20. Personally I am waiting to see what Hasbro does, since they do have an upcoming version of the same character. And I still preffer their Prime.

OK, I think you talked some sense into me and I'm going to hold off. I wouldn't be that upset if I missed out. As for shipping, I just took the shipping weight off BBTS and used AE's shipping calculator, using their cheapest option, and always rounding up. Not sure how accurate that process is.

So I haven't been following the conversation and rumor mill that closely. What's this you say about a Hasbro version? Because I also prefer the Hasbro PMP, for both style and price lol.

God Bomber has combiner wars pegs for his knees. Maybe some small parts are used from other sources, but the mould itself is entirely new.
