For Combiner Wars/Unite Warriors, it seems a full combiner from either company goes for as much on the secondary market with takara usually being cheaper to get out of the two just because Hasbro didnt reales them all together.
Are they though? I just did a quick eBay search and the Takara sets seem to be $30-50 more than the Hasbro ones with the exception really being Memasor. Not trying to argue just curious where they're similar prices because I'm looking for a convoy grand prime for a decent price

You have to compare apples to apples. Grand Convoy, grand Galvatron, and a few others were exclusives so the only way to get them was through the hasbro asia version which was priced higher.
Menasor was a standard release hence why he is the same price and its those I was referring to. And I dont know how you compared for superion since I cant find any listings to get a hasbro superion all at once.

All Hasbro versions and the incision of alpha bravo doesn't discredit these listings since he's the regular retail limb for Hasbro. Of course if you absolutely have to include Hasbro slingshot then the prices change but then it's not "apples to apples" since slingshot was an exclusive.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/272327889091 this is the cheapest Takara listing.

You wouldnt count this?
http://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1030219631&ref=list
And here's a UW Bruticus for less than $70 http://jungle-scs.co.jp/sale_en/?page_id=121&id=1810108
And for you, here is a ton of Grand Prime listings starting at less than $100
http://jungle-scs.co.jp/sale_en/?page_i ... 1000052330
I really dont think the Japanese mainline ones are thus more colelctable. Any price difference stateside is still just because of shipping expenses to import. That doesnt mean the toy itself is worth more. Technically in their respective markets, the most collectable item from this whole line is Hasbro's Prime.

I had no idea those sites existed so thanks for that. I feel like collectability is one of those things that's really hard to measure since it's so subjective. Interesting discussion though

Yeah, it was fun

In the end, all I wanted to show here was that buying Takara just because its Takara doesnt mean it will be worth more later or that its more "collectable". All these Unite Warriors set are now less on that site than they were when they first came out and that can happen to Legends Trypticon too. So I say just go with your heart

We've got some new in-hand photos of LG-43 Dinosaurer, courtesy of the TakaraTomyToys twitter! (that's a mouthful!)
The new photos show the massive dino doing some finances and balancing some budgets. Who knew he was so fiscally responsible? Check out the photos below, and make sure to sound off on the boards to tell fellow Seibertronians if plan to make Dinosaurer (or Trypticon) your accountant when he comes out later this year!

Not to worry; while no-one of course has it in hand yet, pictures of both the Hasbro version and the Takara version seem to show the differences between each are negligible. The biggest difference, really, is just going to be the box they're in.

The calculator is there so you can figure out how quickly a Transformers addiction can put you in the poor house.

This is obviously the Marvel comics Trypticon, who has decided he doesn't want his next mission to be cut short because of fuel expendatures again, so he's making sure he'll have a second Dinobot thrashing in his budget before he goes out.

I really want to talk that person who buy trypticon for box and not for small minor color differences who would want to do that?
Be sticking with hasbro version here

Well your in luck because so far it looks like this beautiful beast will look very similar coming from Hasbro. so much so that there is still debate over whether or not the toy in these images is indeed the Takara version or the hasbro version.

I'm glad Takara includes a calculator with all their products, to be honest. It reminds you to make calculations to see if you're spending too much on these dumb robots
