-Most significantly, Triggerhappy has been retooled to have a 5mm peg on his Cockpit (for of course his Targetmaster) where his Decepticon Logo was. Said logo has been moved lower down and has been made purple instead of silver.

-Eyes are red instead of yellow

-Gold and light blue detailing on chest and wings has been replaced by white

-Gold details on feet have been removed

And... that's about it. Triggerhappy doesn't seem to have any more differences, aside from of course the Targetmaster and the Titan Master.

The striping pattern of the wings also differs between the Hasbro and Takara versions. The Hasbro version features a thick white stripe down the length of each wing, boarded on the top and bottom by thinner blue lines. The Takara-Tomy version inverts this, having a primarily blue stripe on the wings instead, with thinner white lines boarding the top and bottom.

Also, the detailing on the chest is a bit ambiguous as to the actual color. I don't think it's white like some of the other highlights on the shins and tail fins. It looks either to be silver, as opposed to the bronze/gold used on the Hasbro version, or perhaps a metallic blue. I'm leaning towards silver, though. That would explain how it looks whiter in some shots and blue in others. Silver reflects light in some interesting ways.

I'm freakin' thrilled at this outcome. Being a huge fan of Takara since the classics I'm happy I didn't get burned by my inpatients.

IMO I feel both Trigger Happy and Brawn are worthy homages to the G1 figures...'nuff said!

Agreed! Both molds are fantastic, and either paint job, Hasbro or Takara-Tomy, suits these figures very well. It all comes down to color preference, really. And, I guess, the extra Target master buddy for Triggerhappy.

*Siiiiiigh* ...as I expected, Trigger's not that much better here. And, to be honest...I prefer the Hasbro version. I like the extra paint details, I like the shade of blue better, the yellow eyes look better...the only thing I'd really want from the Takara version is the Targetmaster, and that's only to make Triggerhappy 'proper'. The Hasbro version on its own (heck, even without the two rifles) is a great toy already, so...I'm gonna have to pass on this.

You know, deep down I kinda knew Ramhorn would be used for Clouder, I just didn't know how they'd pull it off with the animal head. Painting it like a condor? Well played, TakaraTomy Note how he's using the anime deco that's based on the US Doubledealer.

Triggerhappy's new Targetmaster is definitely styled after Blowpipe, which makes things kind of weird, as the Titan Master is styled after Blowpipe as well

Eh, as far as I'm concerned, this is one of the few times I appreciate Hasbro's toy-accuracy more as I really don't like Hot Rod's cartoon colours. The much brighter and vibrant red fits him so much more than a dark ugly maroon and I appreciate the intuitive chest transformation over the chest... not transforming. It's more accurate, and one looking for accuracy will enjoy that; but from a pure toy standpoint TR just looks so much better.

I still far prefer that Legends Hot Rod over the Titans one. I loathe the Titans Hot Rod colours so much *that red in particular just looks so cheapo plastic and nasty) I started painting him very soon after I bought him. My Titans one is my 'Marvel Hot Rod' with my custom Firebolt and Legends will be my 1986 movie one I guess to pose with Kup, Blurr and Arcee. I've been very tempted to just superglue the lower piece of the chest completely shut cos I hate that huge gap it leaves in the stomach area and never used it after the first time. The seam where the chest pieces close together bugs me too.

Eh, it's not particularly surprising - same thing happened with Drag Strip, right? Takara'll hold back on paint apps if they feel the lack of them is more accurate.

I might have to look into that Triggerhappy. I don't have the mold yet, and these headmaster targetmasters are too kitschy a concept for me to not want one of (I was considering Kup until Triggerhappy became a choice).

Takara's colors look slightly better, but I really don't like that unneeded silver on the legs (I like toy deco over toon deco, hence my love of Hasbro's TR Scourge). Amazon says my (hasbro) Brawn should be here by 8pm, so fingers crossed!

I think I'll pick up kickback but just for the Doubledealer head and then sell him. I much prefer the yellow translucent wings to the boring clear ones here.

I'll definitely be picking up triggerhappy but pretty much only for the targetmaster. The only other thing I prefer on the Takara version is the white plastic. It looks a lot crisper than the Hasbro version. If it wasn't for the targetmaster though I'd definitely skip.

I like the silver kneecaps on Legends Brawn, and not just because they're screen accurate. They also nicely complement the silver forearms, creating nice symmetry in Brawn's color layout and design.

I can't really fault you on your choice on Brawn. Hasbro's is pretty good, even if missing a few details, like the painted tire rims and knees. That brighter, richer green just looks more appealing, even if it's not as screen (or G1 toy) accurate.

However, you might want to give Kickback another glance. He's got not only more accurate paint apps as compared to the Hasbro version, but more paint apps, period, beyond even what you'd find on the original G1 toy or the cartoon. Plus, those wings aren't just clear, colorless plastic. The "armatures" of the wings are painted over in silver, giving them a nice "two-tone" look. It would have been perfect if they had gone for that iridescent, look of the wings they did for Generations Waspinator a few years ago. Though, I suppose Waspinator's wings should look more organic since his alt mode is supposedly organic, while Kickback is more definitively an inorganic/robotic version of a real grasshopper.

There's also the Universe and Henkei! Henkei! versions if you wanna compare those with these as well.

I felt like keeping it more focused this time, make the differences pop more.

Just want to point out in regards to Cyberpath's nice Brawn comp there. I have TR Brawn in my hand ( well, next to it. I'm typing.) and his green is dead on with the green on the G1 toy. The pic pulled for the comp is off compared to what I'm looking at on the actual toy. It's much darker.

I'd also like to point out that the richer, forest green on Brawn's G1 cartoon model sheet is different from the olive/brownish green used in practice in the actual cartoon episodes (animation cells). Takara's Legends Brawn matches up very nicely with the green actually used in the cartoon.

Yeah, the charts are mostly for comparison of the colour layouts and paint apps rather than the exact shades of things. (But is it really significantly darker than that? I never really trust Hasbro's stock photos. A lot of the times they can't even transform them right. )

I'd also like to point out a little nitpick with the Brawn comparisons; the vehicle mode configuration on the Hasbro picture is completely different - it has the shield piece thing on the top of the vehicle rather than combined with it like in Takara's picture. It creates a cool unique look for sure that will certainly help any redeco stand out, but it doesn't make for a very accurate comparison.

That's how the Hasbro photographer chose to pose it. Same with Kickback's wings.

They didn't care enough to properly transform an expansive toy like Masterpiece Bumblebee so it doesn't surprise me when this happens with cheaper toys.
