I just use my Telemocha Series figure (which uses the RobotMasters mold) and have Cheetor (who is also the Telemocha Series figure, using the original BW mold, since the Universe Cheetor mold is garbage) in an action pose with his legs bent to make him squat shorter than Primal.Wolfman Jake wrote:I'm debating what will be the least "problematic" Optimus Primal to go in my Classics Beast Wars collection. The upcoming reissue of the original Ultra figure, which is bigger than voyager Rhinox, or this reissue of the Robotmasters figure, which is quite a bit smaller than Voyager Rhinox. I'm leaning towards a large figure, which would at least scale Primal properly with Cheetor, but then he'd be too big for Dinobot. Ugh...such a headache.

This looks enough enough to me:Wolfman Jake wrote:Scale is simply a nightmare for Beast Wars figures.

That's what the Ultra mold is, though. A Classics version would be like this:Wolfman Jake wrote:Not bad, but I don't want to have to use the original BW toys to fill in my gaps.

But that tooling isn't new. It was already given that tooling back in 2007 for the Takara's Beast Wars Reborn release (which was released later that year for Hasbro's BW 10th Anniversary line).Wolfman Jake wrote:Yeah, I know the Ultra toy coming up from Takara is technically the original toy from Beast Wars, but it's been retooled and redecoed compared to the original release. That gives it a pass in my mind.

off topic: hey sarblade... doncha think telemocha cheetor is incredibly underated? ive always been a fan of the mold, but i was blown away with how nice the paint apps were.Sabrblade wrote:This looks enough enough to me:Wolfman Jake wrote:Scale is simply a nightmare for Beast Wars figures.
Though, my Rattrap is the more show-accurate Japanese one with the copper head and hands.
"Swarp" is a mistranslation.Va'al wrote:(with the amusingly named Swarp)

Those ARE the Hasbro versions pictured (with Tailgate's flames digitally edited out of the pics). Those Takara pics are using images of Hasbro figures.MemphisR56 wrote:That grey plastic on the brainstorm is awful dark, the faceplate looks quite dull in those pictures too. It's quite a heavy contrast against the blue; remembering my childhood brainstorm figure it feels as though the hasbro version is the more accurate this time around.
Swerve and Tailgate look quite dull too, a lot unchanged; there was a lot of potential for tailgate to get some extra paint apps and break up all that white too, but all I can see that they've done is remove the blue flames from the hood.
That's cemented me picking up the hasbro versions then.

Yes. All figures shown in these pictures of the "foreign" (as in "Hasbro") versions as placeholders.Wolfman Jake wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Those ARE the Hasbro versions pictured (with Tailgate's flames digitally edited out of the pics). Brainstorm too? Is that what you're implying?
