What's left for the Legends line? Have all the 2014 Generations toys been released in Legends?
You guys think Takara will release Titan Masters under Legends or it's own line?

There is still Jihaxus, nightbeat and crosscut. Though they might just skip nightbeat and release him when he is a proper headmaster. Crosscut I am not sure either. But Jihaxus is definitely a character they would do especially since they could offer the proper deco that homages the initial toy:

I thought the hasbro toy was homaging his current colour in the comics.

The comics, specifically the Dark Cybertron ones, got the colors from the Gen toy, which got the colors from the RiD toy. He was gold and silver with a red head in the comics before Dark Cybertron.



Hasbro goofed up the colors on the Gen Jhiaxus when they went looking for deco references in their archive and found pics of the RiD toy first, assumed its colors were the correct ones, and based the Gen toy's colors on the RiD toy's colors instead Jhiaxus's original yellow/gold, white/silver, red, and green colors.

Ah my bad. I knew there was a mistake with the deco, I just confused what the mistake was. And I am reading the comics now so I get confused as to what came first with toys and comics. Like I know now that the design for Generations deluxe megatron was first in the comics but wasnt sure for jihaxus. He was in issue 10 of IDW TF RID from 2012 right? Was his deco orange then?

But in any case, if Takara is gonna keep the legends line for a gen toy that wasnt released yet, it would totally be for Jihaxus in proper colours. That would be a sure buy for a lot of folks.

Crosscut is a good call too, Will. I can see Takara doing him for sure, but I'm not sure how they could improve upon Hasbro's deco. The Gen release's deco is Takara good.

I'd like to see the gen mold done up in these colors. I picked up the safety/hunter's orange version on the cheap because I didn't own the mold yet and I like the Jhiaxus remolding better. It's a pretty fun mold, but I had to take a file to the backpack peg to get mine to peg in correctly in bot mode. I also do a little fanforming and fold his wings to point backwards. I think it looks nice.

I've seen a really great fan repaint. Well whatta ya know, here it is.

I have to keep stopping myself from buying that super mode Starscream. That deco is just killer. And speaking of expensive Starscreams... dat Cloud verion has all of my wants.

that first pic is awesome. I love how color looked on comics printed on newsprint.
His head design is awesomely diabolical.

If Takara released one like that custom, I would consider trading up.

That was more of a, shall we say, repair measure, by having the issue reflect what the toy looked like, and giving it some sort of in-story reason for it. Felt very silly at the time, though I never thought it was that forced. But yes. Fun stuffs.

Like United Straxus both being a thing and being based directly on Straxus's deco from his appearance in Marvel G1 issue #18 (the Hasbro toy's deco is an amalgam of his colors from both issues 17 and 18). Or the CW Rook mold getting redecoed into IDW Roller for Unite Warriors.

Stay away from that Stasrcream Cary! Of all the expensive Clod redecos that one by far uses the worst mold. Do you have any experience with that Blitzwing mold? The only thing worse than spending money on it is spending a lot of money on it. Fo the same price you could get Galaxy Force Starscream, which is objectiely a much more crucial figure in a collection for the simple reason that it has no decent Hasbro counterpart (similar case to Prime Breakdown).

I think Sideswipe is part of a different conversation, having seen the fascination that some Japanese artists have for the gritty 90s style of US/UK comics (Dredd, G2, that sort of thing). I mean, it was a whole bundle of cross-influences to begin with, so it's more of a two buckets in the same well situation, really.

I have Double Dealer so I know what's what with that mold (the issues don't bother me). I just think the paint job on cloud Starscream looks great. Sometimes it's just nice to want things. I got a little burned on my last expensive Japanese only figure and it will be my last for a long long time.

Instead of hasbro's mat silver plastic and candy apple red, Takara's would be silver paint and candy apple red. So essentially Imagine the stock photo as the ideal of a TT crosscut

Pain to find? I literally have had so many choices to pick from all at reasonable prices or better (then again, I'm US). He is even still at HTS at a reduced price!
