Turret barrel looks normal length, just in it's extended form (Hasbro stock art forgets that step) and maybe a bit of perspective distortion from a wide angle lens.
And while Takara's might be more cartoon accurate, I prefer the Hasbro (again).
However, whichever version you prefer, we're all winners here

So, is there a consensus that Legends Megatron is darker than Combiner Wars Megatron? Similar to the difference between United WFC Megatron and Generations WFC Megatron?

I just realized that they are using the same font that I use for the Seibertron.com logo as the text for the character name and alt mode on the Legends packaging.
It threw me off at first because they stylized the letters such as the "R", "E", and maybe a few others but it's definitely the same font I use. Cool.

I'm pretty sure it's not custom. And I am sure others use this font too but it's just a fun coincidence that this time it's both used by a Transformers Fansite and the company making those very toys.

TFYuki posted a shot of the upcoming Japanese redeco of the Leader class Combiner Wars toy (whose galleries you can find here), and some wonderful fan on the internet also posted a comparison between the two - check the images out below!

Megatron looks so much better without all that red crap. I always baffeled me why any collector would want a mold meant to look like the cartoon aesthetics but in vintage toy colors. It makes no sense. Just make it all cartoon.

I was gonna go with HAsbro just because of that. G1 Megs is freaking awesome and I love the hommage. However, NO RED ON THE INSIDE OF THE LEGS. For me, that's a dealbreaker for this concept. Sure, it would have made an odd colored tank but still...

Supposedly according to hlj, even TAV Strongarm got a limited release like the Fembots.
