You know, I like the Takara version better...but I want a Minimus Ambus and leaving him out sold me the Hasbro one. I'm not buying two...especially when it will be like buying three

Yep, I'm gonna have to get my mitts on that Takara version :grin:

. I'll buy the Hasbro version for Minimus, as well as to support the cause, but Takara's Paint apps are simply too good to pass up!

Yea, I'm gonna have to go with Takara but I will be buying the Hasbro version as well, just because I'm not patient to wait for the Takara version. Takaras version has 2 autobot symbols on his shoulders and the paint is so vibrant, even in between the feet and leg hinges ,,, but once I do get the Takara version, I'm gonna sell the Hasbro one

For some reason Takara's Magnus looks better for some reason but Hasbro's Has Ambus. Now Im torn on which version to get.

I actually prefer the Hasbro version. The reds and blues on the Tamara version are too dark, and I actually like the white legs on the Hasbro version (although I wish the crotch had some blue coloring). Besides, I would much rather have Minimus Ambus than Alpha Trion.

So, I know I posted earlier about how the red or white thighs don't bother me, but looking at the 2 side by side, I really like the deeper blue in the Takara version. But I want Minimus Ambus too...

Oy vey, this is going to be hella expensive if I get both...

I'm not entirely sure its that much deeper, the Hasbro looksa little overexposed in comparison.. Until we see them side by side in the same photo it'll be tough to tell. They do look nice though

Good idea, definitely will wait until a pic of both side by side gets posted to see. I still want a Magnus with a core figure though...

Well, damn. The differences between Takara and Hasbro are significant. Way more colors for Takara. Thanks to you, I pre-ordered my Magnus from Amiami.

Thanks for the response on the comic source.

And I wouldn't be too quick to judge the colors with images uploaded. Actual colors and the pictures are more often than not miles apart in difference.

I was afraid of that. Takara's does seem to have a much better color blue. It's again weird, as Takara is giving us a very faithful IDW version of Magnus in terms of color layout, but Hasbro's blues and reds and closer to what is actually seen in print, but foregoing or rearranging some of the details that the Takara version meticulously replicated. I like the deeper blue for a more G1 screen accurate match. Unfortunately, the whites of both don't seem to match up, with Hasbro having an off white versus Takara's true white. Worse, I don't think a thigh swap will be possible. Looks like the assembly is mostly pins and not screws.

I'd love to see some comparison shots so we can see both in the same lighting conditions, but those are probably months out. I'm going to get the Hasbro version for sure, for Minimus Ambus, but it looks like I'll need to get Takara's too, despite the red thighs (again, I prefer the white for G1 cartoon accuracy). I'll keep the Takara version on pre-order at least until I see some good comparison shots with the Hasbro version, but in all likelihood, I will end up getting both versions in the end. Damn you, Has-Tak, from the bottom of my wallet!
