I just hope there won't be another shortage on stock again, like with Arcee, Chromia and Windblade.

I'm trying to avoid AmiAmi due to their "no returns" policy, but I might have to if I'm out of options. Hopefully, I'll find some place else.

I've never ordered from Amiami and I was about to actually order that Arcee, but I have absolutely no experience with them. Are they usually good? Do they package their shipments well?

It's been a very long time since I last bought anything from them, but if memory serves, they're not bad with the packaging. CUstomer service was quite good, and they respond fairly quickly. But as I mentioned in the earlier post, they no longer replace defective items, even if it's broken right out of the box. Ever since their policy change, I've tried to avoid buying stuff from them.

Replacement is a case to case basis. They don't pay for the shipping cost if you send it back.

I thought all their parcels now come with a yellow note saying that unless you're living in Japan, they cannot (or rather, will not) refund or replace your item even it it's been determined to be a manufacturing defect.

There's gonna be one. I betcha!

Scalpers and limited production runs...a collector's worst nightmare.

Those notes have always been there ever since Encore 20. I sent an inquiry concerning reports that Encore 20 Mixmaster had no head. I got a feedback that they would not consider replacing one because of such an issue. A few orders later, they started including that print out with the chibi character.

Why? Amiami's services and prices are tops! If you fear damage from delivery, if it's a superficial box dent, they won't replace her that's for sure. But if the damage is justifiable, then try reasoning with customer service. Also, send a pic to back up your claims.

You know, having added Black Widow, Slipstream and Nightbird to my list keeping track of the "mold family tree" (like which mold is retooled into what) I started to wonder if Slipstream and Nightbird are actually pre-planned by Hasbro. Black Widow from Animated Blackarachnia is a fresh retool and the clear pieces on the prototype are newly sculpted parts. Yet the new parts on the prototypes for the other two are opaque.

Am I looking into this too much?

No, I think it's legit. Knowing how far in advance Generations Ratbat was planned (given Scourge's instructions), and understanding how intricately Combiner Wars retools have been planned, having Slipstream and Nightbird pre-planned makes perfect sense.

If you group your shelves by continuity, you could put the TCC one with a Prime group and the Legends one with a G1-based group.

Aside from the obvious NSFW ramifications that stem from this kind of retooling, the Animated Blackarachnia mold no longer fits into Hasbro's current pricepoint packaging system, as it's too big to be marketed as a Deluxe and too small to be sold as a Voyager.

That's not what I meant. I was referring to a new Arcee mold from Hasbro (and Takara). I am really hopeful for one, but seeing Takara make one out of the animated mold makes me think there isnt one in Hasbro's schedule.

That's my plan! I've got a pretty good Prime/"Aligned"/"Modern" continuity collection going now, thanks in part to Takara Tomy filling in some gaps with the Transformers Adventure line. Sabr, if you've got a running list of toy repurposes that have popped up in media other than it's continuity of origin, say like Prime Bulkhead in IDW G1, I'd love to see it.

Two arm assembly ......I don't think they'll replace those. As I previously mentioned, having an Encore set with a headless Mixmaster........it won't fit the requirement of a replacement. Plus the cost of shipping will be on you (so if you live overseas like the USA....the shipping will kill you).
