What about the robots in disguise line? Or Superion?
Ya know what? You're right, I've actually liked every deco they released in the rid'15 line; I was originally talking about the generations/legends lines, because it irritated me that they weren't that great to me; and I felt the same way about the hasbro rid'15 line, so the tav line kinda slipped on by

Well it makes sense, we are in the LEgends thread after all
And I do agree that the difference between Legends and Generations is more "different" than it is "superior". Be it Blitzwing, Megatron, Brainstorm, Jetfire, Whirl, Rattrap and especially Roadbuster, the differences dont really do anything making me want to import (not that it would cost so much more). Though I will say that their Tankor and Rhinox was better and Arcee was more to my taste (especially given the design they went with). Their Gelshark vs our Skybyte is probably the best one of all to show that they can still be superior when they want to be. I own Legends Whirl and... I am totally indifferent to owning it over the Hasbro one. Both seem so inferior to the use of that mold for Shockwave (as you said, their exclusives are pretty great). That Magnus also seems to have much nicer paint apps, even though I am not fond of the choice of red hips (man, that picture with Springer and Arcee totally played a number on me, it's like I was blind and now I see).

No way, there is no way 'metallic brown rhinox' is better than 'normal (realistic?) color rhinox'

It was better assembled & more show accurate.

Hasbro's Rhinox is shiny too, so both toys are wrong in that regard.Hellscream9999 wrote:Except not, because he wasn't shiny brown ion beast or robot mode.

Color shade-wise, however, Takara's has the better brown vs. Hasbro's shade of grayish tan that Rhinox never had in the show.

I have both Rhinoxes and Hasbro's is glossy and reflective of light just like Takara's.Hellscream9999 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Hasbro's Rhinox is shiny too, so both toys are wrong in that regard.Hellscream9999 wrote:Except not, because he wasn't shiny brown ion beast or robot mode.

How do you mean the hasbro one is shiny? I never noticed it, it could be a natural quality of the plastic color.

Metallic or not, brown is still what Cartoon Rhinox was, not grayish tan.Hellscream9999 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:I have both Rhinoxes and Hasbro's is glossy and reflective of light just like Takara's.Hellscream9999 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Hasbro's Rhinox is shiny too, so both toys are wrong in that regard.Hellscream9999 wrote:Except not, because he wasn't shiny brown ion beast or robot mode.

Huh, well I guess that it was the metallic brown of the legends rhinox that put me off, b/c it was metallic on purpose.

Nope, I mean the rhino skin parts. Neither Hasbro nor Takara made Rhinox's green robot parts shiny.william-james88 wrote:Hellscream9999 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:I have both Rhinoxes and Hasbro's is glossy and reflective of light just like Takara's.Hellscream9999 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Hasbro's Rhinox is shiny too, so both toys are wrong in that regard.Hellscream9999 wrote:Except not, because he wasn't shiny brown ion beast or robot mode.

I also thinks he is referring to the robot mode which is indeed quite shiny.

"Metallic" is not a color, though.Hellscream9999 wrote:Having looked at both, while the hasbro one is glossy, it is not metallic like TT's

No, but it describes a color that looks like polished metal in it's reflectivity, I use that type of color in my art a lot;
I don't really wanna keep arguing with ya, you're a great guy, and I respect you, so: It's a draw, they were both kind of a let down in the color department

Which figures?

munkimus prime wrote:Wait TT Rhinox's legs are tighter. I'm now kind of tempted to pick one up. I finally got to get Hasbro's Magnus so as much as I like the figure I don't know if I want the mold twice. Even with the new shiny paint job. I'm also not sure about the Alpha Trion either.
