Takara Legends Titan Masters Set Available for Preorder Online

Postby william-james88 » Thu Jan 26, 2017 9:22 am

Motto: "'till All Are One"
You remember the news of Takara releasing the Hasbro Titan Masters in better deco? It being a wonderfest and Cybertron Satelite exclusive spread some fear for the price. Satelite Exclusives have been very expensive in the past, especially for the west where with importing costs, like last year's Warrior Black Knight Bumblebee for $60. However, the situation may not be so bleak this year because we have a listing from Robot Kingdom for this set and it is at the very reasonable price of 25$. Of course, the extra $20 it costs to ship it out anywhere is not as fun but fellow Seibertronian Emerje realized that for Robot Kingdom to sell it for this low compared to the Yen price it has in Japan must mean that this wont be exclusive afterall, and have a more readily available release from Hasbro Asia.

Emerje wrote:To be able to get these for $25 must mean there'll be an Asia release. $25 is less than the exchange rate by about $1.50 and doesn't include any type of import markup. Keep an eye on TFSource and BBTS in the coming days.

Image

So, instead of looking at $60 like previous Satelite exclusives, this would be more around the $40 price point. Would you get it for that?

If you are able to order 2 or 3 items that are reasonably priced it can spread out that shipping cost a bit & make it a reasonable deal.

No, they are actually quite hard to get in japan since right now the only way to get them is to go to Wonderfest.

Bro' tried that route. Even my JP, very reliable (not Amiami) source won't/can't touch the WF route with a 10 foot pole. When it's limited, it's limited. Like those Convention Exclusives in the mainland. Also timed released for WF and later Takara Tomy mall and some other JP stores.

Even advised me to just wait for potential auction offers post WF. The RK route is the best (for now) until BBTS or even hlj etc get's in the act and sells them.

Its the lighting and the camera + your monitor. Similar phenomena with Wolfmanjake's TL images of SW. His is kind of dark blue when in reality it is more lighter.

I looked into those but all they do is add distracting 80s sticker detail. It ends up looking more jarring. I lwas like when reprolabels add to the toy and blend with the design, those dont.

Hm yeah. Not for me but it looks great for fans of Astrotrain whether you prefer G1 toy or G1 cartoon colours both look well done.
I have anxiety, depression and aspergers syndrome so my behaviour can be erratic. I don't mean offense to anyone. Just very picky about my Transformers collecting. You're all cool! :)

Likes: Bayverse, Marvel UK G1, Geoff Senior art, '86 movie (more for style/soundtrack rather than Star Wars plot)
Dislikes: Bumblebee movie (lousy rehashed dumb crud), TFA, G1 cartoon, IDW G1, BW/BM, MP. The entire concept of Autobot Megatron

I have the hasbro tr version and he definitely isn't as light as those pix som I'm guessing Takara's version is indeed darker than these pix show

He's a great figure, at times the train mode feels like a stick and the shuttle a bit squashed but he's definitely a good representation of the character especially in robot mode. The transformation is super fun too, which always helps my level of enjoyment I get from a figure...
My personal prime collection so far in descending order of how great i reckon the toy is -
FE Prime, Silas Breakdown (Powerizer), Dreadwing (Powerizer), FE Bulkhead, Voyager StarScream (Powerizer), Ratchet, Soundwave, Arcee, Voyager Megatron (Powerizer), Wheeljack, Thundertron (Powerizer), Ultra Magnus (Powerizer), Knockout, Cliffjumper, Bumblebee,Airachnid

Funny, I actually don't like using stickers for adding actual detail/colour breakup to a figure- mainly because they're very fragile and often look very jarring. For insignias, text or other details that I have no chance of painting on myself, though, I'll take a sticker (though I'd prefer waterslide decals if I'm honest). I'm also quite fond of the bizarre "technicolour technology" detailing of 80s stickers.

I will say though, for all the TR figures so far I've gotten (Hardhead, Skullcruncher and Skytread) I've been painting details on. The sculpts are gorgeous, the paintwork...not so much. When I'm done picking every single panel line out in Tamiya Purple I might post them here.

I looked into those but all they do is add distracting 80s sticker detail. It ends up looking more jarring. I lwas like when reprolabels add to the toy and blend with the design, those dont.
What they did for the noggins of Legends and TR Galvatron, however, is amazing. Better than any other 3rd party upgrade option, IMHO.
