I'm confused. Please explain. Leo Prime's head has a face plate.william-james88 wrote:Plus, wouldnt it have been safe to assume they would give us a faceplate head for Lio Convoy?
You and Jake are both right. It would all depend on who releases said figure. Takara is full of surprises. And we all know what happens when we assume.william-james88 wrote: I dont think we can assume anything.

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

he has the sentinel prime head which has a mouth with upper and lower lips ala Optimus Primal:
not the faceplate of Lio Prime
Just wanted to say that they used an existing headsculpt instead of doing one which looked closer to the show model.

It's not a mouth, it's just segmented. no mouth. Sentinel has a retractable full faceplate like movie Optimus

Indeed, that was my point. I was responding to WJ's post stating otherwise, trying to use tact and not just say "you're wrong," instead inviting conversation by casting doubt on his original assertion with plainly worded and non-confrontational alternative interpretations.

I thought maybe you were agreeing with him

I call this phenomena pareidolia. It is a psychological phenomenon in which the mind responds to a stimulus (an image or a sound) by perceiving a familiar pattern where none exists.
Common examples are perceived images of animals, faces, or objects in cloud formations, the man in the moon, the moon rabbit, hidden messages within recorded music played in reverse or at higher- or lower-than-normal speeds, and hearing indistinct voices in random noise such as that produced by air conditioners or fans.
In this case a mouth on a faceplate.

Although, to Bill's credit, he was seeing a complete face in what was at least partially a face (as we know them to be as human beings). That's a bit different than making a mistaken perception based entirely on a random or unrelated stimulus.
When I think of facial pareidolia, these are the kinds of examples that come to mind:

Yes, but not as Primal's open-mouthed faceplate. Rather, as Convobat's closed faceplate:william-james88 wrote:I dont need you guys to agree with me, Takara agrees with me:
Its literally used as a Primal headsculpt.

I'm not seeing that at all. A slightly enlarged head as compared to Brawn next to him, sure, but the proportions are all correct within the head. The most common signs of downs on the face are a small chin and/or mouth, flattened bridge of the nose and slanted eyes, none of which really stand out to me from your photos.
For an overall enlarged head, you are probably looking for something more like Macrocephaly.

Thanks for the precision! I am not well versed in medecine.
And yes, the proportions are all correct within his face.
