He could though if you folded his legs up behind the cab.

Maybe including those sketched wasn't such a good idea after all...
Right, I got a dilemma: Swerve. The US version has Flanker, the Japanese has Phaser. As for Tailgate, the US version has flames (like the Prime version), while the Japanese version is all bare like the G1 original. I like extra deco (US Tailgate), and I like space craft (Japanese Phaser). Which to choose?

Plus we'd need the obligatory Nucleon Quest and Fire Guts repaints.
Haven't you heard? Ginrai totally already exists, brah! Botcon 2014 fo life! Seriously though. I'd be all in. Also, for serious, I do very much enjoy the con figures this year.
He's a lot nicer in hand. The mock ups make him look kind of cruddy.

I don't acknowledge club exclusives. They're over-priced and over-hyped.

I can't tell you that your opinion is wrong but... wait. Yes, I can. Your opinion is wrong.
They're certainly not cheap though. I dunno, there's very few club figures I'm not pleased with. The pricing is hardly any more or less absurd than third parties either. I buy those too. Do you buy those? Not picking a fight, I'm making conversation.
william-james88 wrote:
I will indulge in the conversation. I dont buy exclusives or third parties. One of the reasons for the exclusives is the cost for the relative value, especially since it's usually a mold I already have. I am also not big on the fiction so their exclusive redecos usually dont mean much to me either (I dont know who Flamewar is for instance).
Incorrect. It is through the boatloads of money the movies bring in along with merchandising that the brand flourishes and has brought us to our current state.william-james88 wrote:I preffer the general release figures (Hasbro and Takara) because they give a greater sense to the inclusiveness of this brand. I want this brand to prosper and continue and it is through the mass release toys that it does.
That's a matter of opinion. Right or wrong, it's not fact. In nearly every case, club/con/sub figures feature a ridiculous amount of deco.william-james88 wrote:These are the toys that kids will love and cherish and maybe turn them into the fans we are now. Also, extra effort in general release figures is always worth so much more to me. Having them do a stellar paint job on the animated Autotroopers doesnt impress me as much as them painting the individual pop out missiles on generations Skids. And for the Takara release, their paintjob is sometimes so beautiful that it outdoes convention exclusives while costing less.
william-james88 wrote:And another thing, for club exclusives, I just dont care paying more for molds that have nothing to do with the deco. I would much rather wait for a proper release of generations Tarantulus than pay a bunch for one that turns into a motorcycle.

No SH!T, that's why I responded to you. You said you wanted to discuss, I do. I do not appreciate you tearing it apart and saying that what I say doesnt matter because I am not the intended audience and all I say is opinion and not fact. The point of discussion is that we have opinions. Just because you dont agree with an opinion, especially when it is not stated to be anything else than that, doesnt mean you have to tear it all apart. Then what`s the point. No sir, I did not ask that question.william-james88 wrote: You wanted to know why people dont buy exclusives and there you have it.william-james88 wrote:Just an opinion. Nope, don't buy 3P either.
I spent the first five years with the club to get that combiner crap. We were promised an incredibly unique figure. We didn't get that.
Not to mention the difficulties foreign members had to go through each year to renew membership because they couldn't set up a modern (AND SECURE!) credit card processing service.
That was enough to put me off, but their fiction ... ugh ... it just became glorified fanwank material.
That's my opinion, it's right to me, you want to call it wrong? Go right ahead, it won't change my outlook.

Burn, I love you so much right now.

The Club has tried doing that, but other than the Nexus Prime toys and Flamewar, none of their other original characters really grabbed anyone.Burn wrote:My biggest grip with the toys is they're lacking originality. william-james88 wrote:Question about the Takara Legends comics. What are they exactly? Some sort of promotional material for the line? And have any of them been translated? Also, they use a bunch of beast wars characters while only very few of them have been part of the Legends line. Any reason why?
They're little short stories that both advertise the toys and star reimagined versions the Beast Wars characters (and a few from Beast Machines as well) in an office comedy setting.william-james88 wrote:Question about the Takara Legends comics. Sadly no.william-james88 wrote:And have any of them been translated?
My guess is that it's a means to celebrate both the 30th anniversary of the brand and the upcoming 20th anniversary of Beast Wars. Since Beast Wars was such a prominent series in the brand's history, it's reasonable to use it to celebrate the anniversary.william-james88 wrote:Also, they use a bunch of beast wars characters while only very few of them have been part of the Legends line. If anyone does, it'll be the fans. But the ones who usually translate this stuff have their hands full at the moment.william-james88 wrote:Here's hoping they translate them.
Well, BW's 20th anniversary won't be until 2016.william-james88 wrote:Also, that reminder kind of makes me sad a bit. It will be the 20th anniversary of Beast Wars and so far, nothing beast wars related has been announced for 2015.
Well, I wouldn't quite say "perfect" show accuracy (especially not for Rhinox), but they were pretty close.william-james88 wrote:The generations line was getting so good at reimagining those toys in perfect show accuracy, I sure hope they are more.
