I think the only way that's going to happen is if the site takes steps to edit or not report content that is politically charged. In this case, by editing or removing the potentially troublesome picture of the bikini, or not reporting on it to begin with.

Yeesh! I cant imagine what it was like around here when Kiss Players came out. As much as we all enjoy different parts of Transformers fiction, I'm sure there is something we all don't like (I certainly have my list...) and I just don't post on forums having to do with those topics.

I've emailed Reprolabels to see if Teypticon will get labels (additional, complimentary or designed to replace). I also hope Full Tilt gets a Takara Tomy version by them.

IIRC, it wasn't so bad at the time since the 2007 movie was still big and hyped up with most everyone focusing on that while Kiss Players was mostly relegated to "over there" and people didn't want to go to "over there".


Anyway, I hope we get to see some pics of Takara Trypticon, Takara Metroplex, and Takara Fort Max all together at some point. I'd like to see all three Megamasters in a two vs one fight with Trypticon giving the other two Cityformers a tough time.

Primalxconvoy, while I appreciate the way in which you have objectively composed your post. And I agree that discussion of such sensitive subjects is the fastest avenue to a better view, it all boils down to the fact that this thread is primarily about the toys.

All, I don't have a problem with the discussion. As the father of two young girls it is a subject that is of great concern to me. I do however have a problem with the behavior in which it is conducted, and some of these posts have been boarder line "personal attacks".

I encourage anyone, if you feel strongly enough, to start a new topic in the appropriate forum on this subject. Maybe Takara Legends pack-in manga needs it's own thread in the comics forum.

There is a HUGE difference between argue and debate, and that difference is objectivity.

Kiss players seemed to have quite some discussion, though:

We could see it easily right now -- after all, there's virtually no difference between TR and Legends Trypticon.

I'm not expecting it. Takara doesn't seem to be advertising the connectivity between the toys' Base Modes as much as Hasbro is.

If anything, other than new packaging, the only new thing I expect the rerelease of Metroplex to get is a new pack-in comic, which I personally hope details Metroplex's departure from the Legends World back to the JG1 cartoon universe.

I think they make appearances in the comics but that's about it. I dunno, the only Legends figure I own is Arcee.

Nope, I'm pretty sure their history on re-releases has been just the original offering without any changes. Now, mind you, I don't consider the God Ginrai set as a re-release, rather a redeco/gift set. For straight up re-releases (Scourge, Blurr, etc.), I'me pretty sure nothing has been added.

Historically-speaking, the majority of reissues have been mostly for G1 toys. Anything else has mostly been anniversary stuff like the Beast Wars 10th Anniversary line from 2006 and its Japanese counterpart Beast Wars Telemocha Series, or oddball stuff like Platinum Edition reissues of non-G1 toys. There were some redeco and retooling cases in some of those, most of which were done for show-accuracy's sake.

But Takara Legends Metroplex just seems to be a vanilla reissue of Takara Generations Metroplex, done primarily as a companion piece for Takara's release of Trypticon.

Indeed they do. The backs of the Legends packaging shows all of the modes of each toy, and the pack-in comics have made use of the Base Modes in their stories.

Blaster's in particular was made into being a Zone Base, which was an integral aspect of the Transformers: Zone series from 1990.

And Fortress Maximus's Fortress Mode is used as the headquarters of the Axalon Trading Company, while Metroplex's City Mode is used as the headquarters for Tera Kura Co.

Though, the ramp connectivity feature for the Base Modes doesn't seem to get as highlighted by Takara as it does by Hasbro.

I will gladly discuss toys. God Bomber sucks. I really dislike that unpainted face, the loose arms, the way the arm piece dont hold well in vehicle mode. And plus, the long gun loosely tabs into those same loosely tabbing pieces. That's loose tabbing sqaured! Base mode sucks hard too. I will say that he looks way better than the G1 version though.

If you can find my comments a few pages back.... The face is fine, not sure the color scheme would warrant any paint, it is just as detailed as any other TM head. My GB is nice and tight, fits together well etc...No floppiness...well the shoulder cannon is a little loose but it still can be positioned. Maybe I'm just fortunate? A lot of people have expressed problems with their Magnus Prime from the Siege set as well, in which I don't seem to have the same problems...

I haven't always been problem free however, my UW Blastoff is kind of a dud...head constantly pops off etc... Just trying to show that I don't always have problem-free toys, but I don't seem to experience many of the QC issues some others do...

I love these Legends comics, Sakamoto is great and reminds me of the pure fun Transformers are supposed to be. Hopefully Reprolabels will make the mall pic stickers for Trypty. Now that someone mentions it I am a little worried about LG Hot Rod's chest as well. Guess we will find out soon. Maybe I should keep my TR Hot Rod just in case I need to switch out chests, but colours wont match anyway.

These are pretty much my thoughts on Godbomber as an individual figure, except the unpainted face doesn't bother me. But man, those arms fall off at the slightest movement.

However, his robot mode looks pretty good (when his arms stay attached) and really his main purpose is to supplement Ginrai/Magnus Prime. On that front, I love the trailer combined with Magnus Prime.

I was busy all weekend playing with base modes, so I still haven't combined Godbomber and Magnus Prime yet. That is this weekend's project/fun. Good thing I have them both together in my mega city (photos for that to come tonight in the TR forum tonight), so they will be easy to take out and put back in without disturbing anything else.

Okay, I'm seeing similarities between Trypticon's comic and Shin Godzilla. From the quadrupedal first form to the fact that they call him Shin Trypticon Base, it's kinda hard to not see it.

This is what I meant by 'first form'. Though not a quadruped, it's still pretty similar.

Being a few months removed I have to say the whole Super Ginrai/God Bomber set was very disappointing. Ginrai was ok, but God Bomber was horrible. Strictly from a playability point, the G1 figures are by far better. I feel bad for the people who bought God Bomber just to use it with Magnus Prime and are discovering the feet won't stay on.

Oh hey speaking of; I was messing with my legends blackarachnia, the elbow ball sockets are cracked and crumbling. And I haven't messed with the figure since i bought it, and it wasn't cracking then.

Well, bugger. That sucks- sounds almost like Gold Plastic Syndrome. I was planning on getting her (as one can never have too many spiders) and now I'm not sure.

Well Hopefully the rumor of a re-release in the Power of the Primes line is true. Possibly in another deco. I was thinking about picking up another Legends Blackarachnia off amazon, $40 isn't bad, seeing if she's as fragile or its just mine.
