I don't know how well it would've worked story wise but I would've rathered have seen Super Link Nightscream/Starscream instead of G1 Ghost Starscream. I think the colors would've worked better with the rest of the team. I'm also not interested in another "G1" colored Starscream especially one made of mostly translucent plastic. Yeah I know I said Super Link Star/Nightscream though but he has significantly less translucent plastic. It would've also helped make more sense as to why it's made out of both opaque and translucent plastics other than for structural integrity. Really just the wings and the shoulder/s would've needed to be made out of the translucent plastic.

I'm fairly certain that Energon Starscream wouldn't work as he eventually became Cybertron Starscream. However since Super Link Star/Nightscream doesn't become Galaxy Force Starscream it could work. There is connections to Unicron though through Alpha Quintesson and then through Mega/Galvatron. Or something like that. I don't know, I need to rewatch all of that stuff.

Oh, he's going to be announced at a later stage by Hasbro in some sort of superior version, to complete the Galvatronus set. Better paintjob, accurate face, named after something Simon Furman cooked up and made out of sheer fanboy adoration, wishes and dreams. Then everybody will pester Takara for a United release to go along with Galvatronus and Takara will remain vague about it for months and eventually cancel the entire set. One year in the future, Takaratomy mall puts up a limited pre order for only the Alpha Bravo remold, sending us back to the end of 2014.

I......I don't know how to feel about this. It's such a friggin' mishmash that it makes you think "Wat." for quite a while. Once you get over that, though....

The thing itself is glorious, and makes you realize what hasbro could be doing. I love clear Starscream. So Takara. Cyclonus. Holy cow. All the detail. I wonder if it really looks like that. Thrust is an eh for me. Never really cared for Armada. Breakdown is kinda out of nowhere, being from the Al. Continuity. He looks really good, though. Roller. Roller Roller Roller. I need a blue version. That would be amazing. Roller was the second (technically) 'Former I ever got. So special attachment factor there. (though I frankly hate the lore. Roller joining the Decepticons? Riiiggght.)
But it is glorious.

Translated bios:

Tactician Cyclonus:

Emperor of Destruction Galvatron's loyal Air Staff Officer. Transforms into a Sci-Fi jet. Receiving a revelation from the dead Galvatron, Cyclonus takes Galvatron's spirit into his body and reformats himself into a new combination-capable "scramble body". Using the power of the Interstellar Emperor Unicron, Cyclonus summons from other dimensions warriors bearing strong malice and evil power. Using the combined energy of their malice, they seek Galvatron's complete resurrection!

Ghost Starscream:

Former "Number 2" of the Destron Army; known by all as a traitor. Transforms into a jet fighter. Wandering space as a being of pure spirit energy, Starscream was resurrected by the power of Unicron and sealed into a half-living-half-dead, insubstantial "ghost body". Now, his insubstantial form radiates the malicious energy generated by his hatred of his murderer, Galvatron. He appears to be cooperating with Cyclonus and Galvatron, to whom he owes his resurrection, but his true nature remains unclear.

Curse Armada Thrust:

Destron warrior from another dimension, he is known as a cool-headed strategist. Transforms into a jet fighter. Once crushed to death during Unicron's transformation, Thrust harbors complicated feelings towards being summoned and resurrected by the Unicron of another dimension. It seems like he secretly plots to somehow use the revived "Grand Galvatron" formed, in part, by his new "scramble body" to get his revenge on Unicron.

Zombie War Breakdown:

Decepticon (yes, it specifically calls him a Decepticon) warrior from another dimension, he is adept at destruction. Transforms into an off-road car. Killed by his comrades and forced to suffer the use of his corpse by human, Breakdown's incredible malice would not allow him to die. Instead, he roamed the earth as a zombie until he was summoned by the Unicron of another dimension. Resurrected in a new "scramble body", Breakdown faithfully obeys the orders of his new master. However, in his deepest thoughts he dreams of reuniting with his former partner, and secretly longs to return to his original dimension.

Wandering Roller

Wanders the space between dimensions after being separated from his comrades in the heat of battle, he was originally a Cybertron warrior. Transforms into a 6-wheeled armored vehicle. Roller's spirit was destroyed by absolute solitude while awaiting rescue by his sole comrade. Believing himself abandoned by his trusted comrade, he became ruled by despair and self-condemnation to the point where he eventually carried strong malicious energy. That energy was sensed by Unicron, who brought him to this world. His memory is patchy due to his long wanderings, but he still bears an incredible hatred for the symbol of the Cybertrons: Supreme Commander Convoy.

Could that Galvatron be Galvatron II? Galvatron got frozened and was reformatted later to Super Megatron in Battlestars. Unless his spark left that body, wandered into Cyclonus and later left him(Cyclonus) and was returned to his original body by Star Giant (?).

Wow, I went from being completely uninterested on this set to totally buying it when the chance comes. A combiner made mostly out of dead Decepticons and a resentful Autobot out for revenge sounds really good. Them being from different continuities makes it even better.

Yep. Thanks for doing those charts. There's even more mold re-uses than I thought. In some ways I can understand some of it but when it starts to take away a character's individual or iconic appearance making them too similar to others (especially on opposing faction) it makes me miss how in the original G1 toyline there were only a few rare examples of shared same molds (and none of the combiners did as far as I can recall).

Sky Lynx looks good there all on his own. Wonder how much longer that will be for.

Wow. This is more awesome fanwank than I can quite take. Let's break it down a bit, shall we?

Cyclonus: Honestly I prefer his Hasbro colours, and would have preferred a G1 toy colourscheme with sexy dark purple. That said, the G1 Galvatron toy inspired combiner mode is simply glorious. All that painted detail...homina homina.

Starscream: On the one hand, the Skydive mold fits a Seeker archetype incredibly well. On the other hand, ARGH CLEAR PLASTIC EVERYWHERE NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Thrust: Oh my god I want this so much. I really, really wish these were coming out individually, 'cause this guy is just awesome.

Breakdown: Dat metallic paintjob, man. Delicious. I mean, I'd rather have the original AM mold, but still, this looks pretty damn good.

Roller: So I've only read The Death of Optimus Prime, and aside from that have no experience with IDW other than what I've read on TFWiki. Thus the bio, whilst undeniably cool, doesn't particularly resonate with me. It matters not- that colourscheme is simply to die for. If he were available separately I'd probably buy him, give him a Decepticon insignia and have him as an extra Combaticon, possibly with a new name and personality.

Question is, will I buy this? Probably not...but only because both space and funds are extremely limited at the moment. If I had the shelf space and the money, these would be mine. MINE.

It seems TT is going by sculpt rather than character and they are already getting the alpha bravo sculpt through Vortex.


Also, question guys, would you have preffered this from TFSS over what they chose instead?
