If I wasn't already getting two of these sets before all the remolding we've just been shown, then I'd be buying two sets now.
That looks fantastic TakTom.

Are you using your discounts, or are you using the actual price someone else will have it as when it comes out? Cause if I could get this guy for $100 and free shipping (which I think was mentioned) then I would totally go for it over the Hasbro most likely
Its not free shipping, its that the toy itself costs 90$. Here is the Bruticus listing on Nippon yassan:
https://www.nippon-yasan.com/figures/15 ... ticus.html
But with shipping, it probably would be more near 120$ than 100$. And thats if you ship it alone, who knows the added discount you,d get from the total cost if you ship things together. it will be a bit cheaper than price before shipping at BBTS. But the point was not that everyone's cost for Takara would be cheaper than hasbro's, it was just that the difference is negligible for all the extra effort takara has put into their version.
If you can get the free shipping by going above 150$ at tfsource, I feel that is the best option of americans, especially those uneasy about buying directly from japan, in case something goes wrong and an item must be returned.
For someone in canada or australia though, theres no question, buying from japan will always be cheaper than buying from BBTS or anywhere else.
I bought 2 UW Bruticus from Anime Export. I'm at USD $94.30 each before shipping. We'll see what I end up at once shipping is calculated.

Unite Warriors Scattershot looks pretty awesome. The little details put this leaps and bounds ahead of the Hasbro version. However, speaking of the little details, it still bugs me that they left the passenger windows all along the sides of the fuselage from the Silverbolt version of the mold. Is Scattershot supposed to be some kind of futuristic commercial passenger spaceship?

Thanks, let us know!
For those wondering, shipping a single UW release from Japan to North America (from amiami) cost 4,195 JPY last year. These are rather big boxes so I get it. The crazy cost difference though comes when shipping MPs. MP shockwave was only 12$ to ship from japan and I think Cobotron paid 7$ for G2 BB.

If the bot as a leg was an inch(+) taller, for me that would make a substantial difference. Yeah, some people would say "the knee joints are too high on the legs...", and "Now my Brawl can't be an arm without Brut looking like a gorilla".
But this would add some substantial height without ALL 5 figures having to be bigger (which yes, would be nice, but the $$$ constraints would probably never allow for that anyway).
Plus for me, an awesome looking combiner trumps the leg figures not working as arms.
I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I don't plan on changing any of the combiners' original limb formations.
Can't argue with you there. That said:
- Arm-bots and leg-bots really need to be the same size if you want to have full Scramble City interchangeability.
- I think the best solution to your complaint is to get the Perfect Effect hand/foot upgrade kits. They have taller feet and smaller hands, which really seems to improve proportions overall. Plus, unlike Hasbro's, they disassemble into guns for the individual robots, which is the #1 thing I prefer about the Hasbro HFG anyway. (I'd probably buy them if I didn't need five of them.)

Don't think of them as windows but little power level indicators for his nose cannon. The more of them are glowing, the higher a charge he can shoot. All techy and whatnot.

Do you think something similar for generations Scourge and his tiny windows?

Fellow Seibertronians, hot on the heels of the Scattershot prototype we saw earlier today, fellow users Survivefan23 and Autobot N have pointed us in the direction of TFYUKI who has posted pictures of the prototype for the Technobot Afterburner. He seems to feature a new head, weapons and windsheild to look more like his g1 counterpart. Check him out below, and let us know what you think in the comments.

Afterburner looks great in bot mode and I love the new G1-style guns, but alt mode looks silly. He should resemble a two-wheeled car like Chromia. I was hoping for a real canopy, but it's just a strange looking windshield that extends into the seat. Anyone riding that would be pretty uncomfortable leaning into all that metal to reach the handles.

Is there a difference between tech and sci fi? Because so far I am seeing some sci fi, especially with scattershot and strafe.

Is it Afterburner that is tipping the scale? He seems to be the one member Hasbro is getting the same way. Though I do wonder if Hasbro will be changing his head as well.

Well, there's probably going to be little difference between the afterburners, but the TT computron 'may' have more/better paint apps - a long shot, I know - but the new Scattershot parts, the new combiner head, the new guns, the rook mold, which looks solid (and is based off of a solid figure), over all, it feels like WAY more effort was put into the TT one.
The hasbro one feels slapped together at the last minute; I get the point of the mold re-use was to be safe with the investment, but the line has more than paid for itself already, why couldn't hasbro give us more remolded parts - or wheeljack's figure? I feel like the hands, feet, and Scrounge are their way of saying sorry for being lazy/uninterested in really making him stand out

It's probably going to be the paint job that makes it techy not just the remolded parts.
Lets just wait until we see the painted results before going like "It's ****".

One notable difference between Hasbro's and Takara's Afterburner is that the former will have a translucent green canopy while the latter appears to have a solid opaque canopy and no translucent plastic at all.

I was happy enough to go with Hasbro's Combaticons, as it was quick and easy and there are plenty of awesome Shapeways kits for Blast-Off and Vortex; and to me, the only Combaticon that actually looked better from Takara was Vortex. The Blast-Off from Takara just didn't do it for me, it's just not what I wanted to see when I think of him.
But this Computron...everything so far points to it being the same kind of choice as Hasbro vs Takara Devastator: one is decent, and the other is perfect. The pricing is for the decent one is decent, and the added value of the perfect one makes it a worthy purchase if you can spare some extra cash. The decent one will fill the needs of those who only want to display Combiners, and the perfect one will have all kinds of bells and whistles for man-children (and lady-girls, mustn't forget political correctness).
Either way...Count me in, Takara!!!
