And I'm here sitting with no Grand Galvatron ever coming because he was exclusive and importing from an importer goes against every fiber in my body.
...why is that?

Because the BBTS, TFSource and all others include the amount it cost them to ship these from china cause no one is distributing it locally. Thats fine for US citizens, it doesnt come out to that much more than when they import the non exclusives (25$ more I think). But now I have to ship it to me whch is an exra 25.39$.
Lets make it simple:
Superion from japan cost me $ 135 US shipped to canada last year
Since I cant import Grand Galvatron directly, I must get him from places that already imported him so:
$ 159.99 US + $ 25.39 to ship = $ 185.38 US
Thats 50$ more. And thats IF it doesnt get caught by the government at customs, whch would make me pay an extra 15% of the product fee (remember that the product coming from the US was priced higher than the Japanese product) plus 20$ for handling by the customs agent. So Grand Galvatron would cost me 185.38*1.15 +20 = $233 USD. So this versus $ 135 USD for Superion.
And remember I am in Canada, so that becomes $ 292 CDN. And $ 1 CDN in canada gets you the same as $ 1 USD in the US.
So because of doubly importing the product I end up paying almost 300$ for Grand Galvatron.
Thats why

so it'll also be interesting to see who I like better between him and Bruticus.
I dig him too, he's fine. And I am very comfortable saying that Motormaster looks better than either of the Onslaughts.Sowndwave76 wrote:shajaki wrote:And while I still feel that neither Computron will be replacing my Quantron, the UW one IS looking pretty slick.
Won't be surprised if this ends up being the best set of the entire line.
Difficult for me to find fault in any aspect of it.
Same here, I really think he will be the true winner of CW/UW when all is said and done. Albeit, he does have the breakdown/wheeljack mold

Yeah but that will just spare the tax and duty fee, its still upwards of 230$ cdn and I dont have that kind of dough for a combiner. The other option is Ages 3 and Up since shipping is only 10$ (US) but then since they are in canada they automatically charge the 15% tax, thats nice. So I am not better off there either. Also I find it kind of crappy that a canadian company is charging me in US$, but I guess its because they have more business with the states and preffer keeping a single currency for accounting reasons. They probably also pay their suppliers in US$.
Just as a reference, Computron will cost me 170$ cdn total.

For the sake of having them be on his chest in robot mode. It seems they designed this figure around two key aspects of his robot mode: Those RCS on his chest and his thruster feet. The results speak volumes about how they probably shouldn't have done that.Optimizzy wrote:Man why did they put the RCS above the cockpit Windows on blast off? That's doesn't make sense. Back to Unite Warriors.
I'm going to backtrack a bit on my previous assessment on the Cyclonus component. I've always preferred comic accuracy to cartoon accuracy, and UW Cyclonus's silvery-blue paint job is actually close to Galvatron in the Marvel comics, so I'm gonna count that as a plus. I still like the rich purple on Hasbro's better, and I still don't care for Roller, but I think I will pick up this set with my next bonus check, if it doesn't cost an arm and a leg by the middle of June.

Yeah, the more I see of that blastoff the more dissapointed I am. All it has over Hasbro is that it's a shuttle but that's it.it's not like thats toy is any better besides that.
I am now thinking I should just skip bruticus all together. Th only new molds being offered in either set are the least appealing of the bunch.
