Who is saying that? The general consensus seems to be that Takara will do a new shuttle mode for Blast Off for their eventual Unite Warriors Bruticus set. They haven't even announced the set itself yet, but they've put together a few teasers and said a few things that are certainly in line with the expectation of a G1 shuttle version of Blast Off rather than Hasbro's repaint of Slingshot.

Starsaber468, didn't you read the tweet link I posted by Yuki? It was an overwhelming vote for Blastoff. Reading between the lines is more or less a green light for a Blastoff (fyi, it's somewhere in this thread)
Um I was refering to the people who were saying that we its just unlikely we would get a full technobot team from takara and a bruticus figure with a space shuttle blast off. I wasn't saying that was refering to yhe people that for some reason were saying that.....
Except that there's more precedent and substance
for getting a new Blast-off than not...

It's a pity though how Scattershot has been treated. It's like the creativity juice among the designers just lost steam. Heck, at least for Cyclonus he did come out more than Okay.
SS on the other hand.........a great head but the combiner head is just LAZY! Also, in the review seen in CW, the part of the fuselage that connects to the cannon is again, another lazy remold as you can see the SST passenger windows. Not to mention the tale fin
If TT still has any interest in that mold, they better do some major engineering reconstructive surgery.
