And if you want to establish a female Decepticon as being in a high position and as being very powerful, saying they're married to Megatron, Galvatron, Scorponok etc. is not the worst start.
But that's just it... no other fembot has been established as a 'wife' to an 'emperor'... so that seems extremely specific to me - unless they're making this someone new and tacking that on, but somehow, I don't think they are.
I feel it could be someone new or even a pre-existing female Decepticon who has been given this title. IDK, it just seems... weird that this could be Esmeral. It's mostly the whole body thing; given what little we know about her, Pyra Magna's body structure is the exact opposite of Esmeral.
And I mean okay, you can probably say "the mold doesn't seem that right" for a lot of characters. I don't think there were a lot of people who bought Combiner Wars Offroad, looked at him, and thought "You know what? He'll eventually make a decent Ratchet". But at least in that case, those two do share a similar size, a similar body structure, and turn into at least somewhat similar alt-modes.
Esmeral is a tiny, dainty, possible deluxe-sized character who appears to turn into what is presumably the female of whatever the hell species Deathsaurus turns into. Pyra Magna is a tall, bulky, imposing, voyager-sized badass who turns into a Fire Truck. There's... there's some things that are really hard to reconcile between that mold and Esmeral.
Yeah, I get that, but I thought the faces actually matched up pretty well when I first saw them, plus this would be her first figure - probably her only one at that, so, it would be a nice figure to get...
I guess, but if that is true, then it's not the best representation of her...
...
Who am I kidding, she had no character to begin with. Giving her this body frame is a great restart point.
Yup, it's servicable; but something I thought of was, their galvatronus refers to himself when not combined doesn't he? maybe the fembots were referring to their combined mode too... just a thought

Hm...marriage of gestalts. That's gotta be awkward for the individuals.

I haven't seen that anywhere in fiction, the closest was the description of what each limb did for the Japanese Super Scrambles.
Kurona wrote:The combiners themselves tended to have powers, though. Bruticus demonstrates greater physical strength than the other combiners, while Defensor has his forcefield.
So it'd make sense that for Lynx Master's power, he'd utilise whatever powers of the limbs attached to him are. Which makes him pretty **** if he combines with the Aerialbots or Protectobots.

Then don't let him combine with Sunstreaker. According to his Spec, he makes Optimus Maximus look good, and I don't think Sky Reign/Lynx Master needs even more of an ego boost.

Bruticus used Vortex's rotors to slash Shockwave's sentinels; and Onslaught's cannons to shoot Shockwave into space. Always thought that scene was very cool. Well, the entire episode.
And Menasor uses Motormaster's ionizer sword.

Well I mean, that's just using physical attributes and weapons carried over. Lynx Master is shown using what are essentially the Autobots' super powers.

What's the difference? In the UW comic those super powers are also derived from the weapons that they carry (the hands and feet.)
Box art from Yuki, really small pic though --

Well, there's a difference between Onslaught's cannons doing what cannons do or Vortex' rotors doing what rotors do, and Ratchet's 'gun' having magical super duper healing powers.
Also niiiiiiiice.
But the Immobilizer, Force Fields, Holograms, and Healing are all supernatural magic abilities that no real world weapons can actually do. Rotor blades and cannons are ordinary technology common to the natural world. If Vortex's rotor could generation a giant energy shield via spinning, that would be a magic power. But his rotor is instead an ordinary rotor. What kinds of unique magic powers can any of the Combaticons do and that Bruticus can, in turn, use as well?Cyberpath wrote:..and immobilizer guns doing what immobilizer guns do; hologram-guns doing what hologram-guns do..
The guns that they use for their special abilities become Lynxmaster's hands and feet. Which is where the special rays are shown to come from. So it's the same thing to me.. Lynxmaster using Ratchet's repair gun and Bruticus using Vortex's blades.

Mistake. D-Max originally wrote "Lynx King" by accident, but the box in the pic says "Lynxmaster".Kurona wrote:Is it Lynx King or Lynx Master? Or is this just Seibertron's Tumblr making a mistake?

It really does, and that is the one that has stuck in my mind, so I keep writing it.
Lynxaster. Booooooooooring.
