Kinda get the feeling that if they went that route with Unicron's heralds they'd go for some obscure dudes though. Which would also be cool

Since TakaraTomy has yet to do straight redecos from its own line, we can expect some unused heads and more retools to show up. Funnily enough, three molds would fit the bill perfectly:

- Brawl's unrevealed head
- Rook's unrevealed head
- Demolishor

The rest could be retools, as extensive as the ones done for Computicon. Mind you, they may pull a Nexus Prime and only call the whole The Fallen or "Megatronus Grand Prime".

I still think it's something simple like Baldigus, but a fallen combiner would be awesome. If they keep the same timeline with reveals we'll find out the identity of this team in two months.

Because what they used were variations of the mold not the mold itself. They didn't release silverbolt three times they released him once, cyclonus once and scattershot once. They haven't reused the exact torso at all yet besides Prime and grand scourge, but the latter was an Ehobby release so that's different. If they retool this next torso to look different from Bruticus then it's a different story and opens up more possibilities. But if it's a straight redeco with a new head then that'll probably be the end of that mold going off of Takaras track record.

I'm a little curious about this - while of course if the molds are lost or broken in the case of things like G1 Sunstreaker, recreating them is a bit of a mess; what's to stop Hastak from manufacturing an entirely new copy of one they have but has been used quite a bit and hence is likely to start suffering degradation?
So if, say, the Onslaught mold has been used one too many times and they want to use it again, why can't they just make an identical copy of the mold if they have it on-hand?

Not sure what molds could realistically work for for Unicron's deep-alternate-reality-fishing-team, but seeing Sinker made me realize that after what Moonheart did to team Lynxmaster, any combiners following Megatronia are gonna' need some major...

Let's see...

Hook - Rook mold with a hook and harpoon to plug into the fist.
Line - Alpha Bravo mold because of its slender build. Include a sword and energy net.
Sinker - Blastoff mold because it's "fat" and like Hook they can include giant wrecking balls to plug into the fists.

That just leaves a fourth member. Maybe Armada Thrust from Groove?

If it were me, I'd make Hook from UW Strafe and Sinker from some version of the Rook mold.

Never had a chance to say this, so...I don't really want Hook Line and Sinker. I've always thought they were kinda dumb. I mean, if you like them, more power to you, but personally I'd rather have Ruination/Baldigus or another off-the-wall team. I wonder how much longer Unite Warriors will go...

I feel like "Hand-Foot-Gun Hulk Hands" are close enough to Sinker's big ol' balls to get the job done, necessitating the front-facing 5mm hand pegs. Plus, that'd let Takara get another use out of their Blast Off, Strafe, or Nosecone toolings.

Hmm. If Hook were made out of Nosecone, with Rook's original claw-like accessory included, that'd let him have both his "harpoon" (drill) and "hook" (claw). I suppose that would mean Sinker would be based on Blast Off, to avoid redundancy with the Tecnobots.

:P Fair enough, although I'm pretty sure we who like them also think they're kinda dumb! It mostly depends on if you're into "so bad it's good".

Interesting note, the original G1 Prime/Convoy mold survives. It was displayed a few years back at the TF expo in Yokohama.

It's not so much 'skipped' as 'don't have the molds to do'.

Maybe it's time for some new molds.
