It's also making me want to see if I can kitbash my spare Classics Mirage to hold a Dianaut.

Speaking of Dianauts... Can anybody fortunate enough to own the Great Robot Base weigh in on how well modern Dianauts play with it? (speaking of that base.. on the escalator, are the pilots adhering to metal under the belt, or..?)

Question about the new Dianauts. How wide are they at the hips?

It occurs to me that the 1:60 scale might be a factor in the lack of a Car Robots subline, since sticking to that scale would make most of the robots only slightly bigger than Hot Wheels cars in vehicle mode.

Some people have observed that MP-11 (and redecoes) are 1:60 scale. Well, so is the original MP-03 version of the tooling. And I think that version of the tooling might be better-suited to adapting to Diaclone, with one particular change: Turning the faux-scabbards into real scabbards.

Takara might do the Guard Base... I don’t want to know how much it will cost. The waruder Dino is my capstone piece

Which Prime? G1, MP-04, MP-10, or (bleh) MP-44?

IMO I generally wouldn't favor using MPs aside from the Seekers with Diaclone stuff, since they're not really designed for it and aside from the Seekers they break scale even worse than the original Car Robots did. I realize that Classics molds are similarly problematic, but not as bad as MPs.

From perusing the TFW2005 thread, I've seen that the new Dianauts work just as well with the Battle Convoy trailer as the Dianauts of yore. So there's plenty of fun to be had with that (and seeing that thing fully crewed is always cool).
Similarly, I have seen proof that modern Dianauts play well with the vintage Great Robot Base.

Your picture needs more love... That battle force is a thing of beauty. Though mentioning W40k... Wonder if any fans have actually written rules to turn Diaclone into a wargame (an even more expensive wargame then the aforementioned W40k!)

If I had more figma stands and/or claw stands I could get a better display going. That shot was more “quick and dirty”

Size comparison with the tryverse jetter. The “cannon arms” are weird.... and oddly enough the “maneuver” gear didn’t get the new articulated hands Red Lightning (Black/Red Dia Battles) cape with. For another $100 seems like an oversight.... but that I suppose they would had to have redone the mold.

Fair warning to anyone putting the visor head on for Dia Battles.... unscrew and take the head apart to mount it on the ball joint.

Surprised Hasbro doesn’t try to bring these over at least online.... I wonder if takara is missing out on some market segments.

Might be because the market for them is smaller in the US. Plus there's the fact that Hasbro already has several brands to deal with.

yeah they're a bit smaller than I *would* have liked... but they're pleasantly deluxe sized. I think the sweet spot is Strike Buffalo and Dia Battles... Big GV is well... a little big....

I'm dying to see what Gigataur is going to be like.

I feel we're over due for some medium sized warauders. I know Raptor and Bughead were supposed to give us that... but they felt a little underwhelming- short of getting multiples along with Stang and Fling (?) and getting weird with combinations.

On a side note for Red Lightning Dia Battles, the *new* motor cycle is not nearly as interesting as the old one... glad I bought at least one troop pack with them.

I also wish I could get more into the last tryvrse guy- the motor cycle one... it just... doesn't do it for me... from the head, to the fact the wheels are a complete solitary unit from the legs *and* arms.

It's also occurred to me... I haven't tried plugging the bullet cores from the tryverse into the other "bullet modules" like the waist on Big GV or the shoulder cradle on Dia Battles (where one of the strike fighters or a suit would plug in)….

Wouldn't suprise me if Takara wanted to keep this ip to themselves as well, they are the only one who profits from this series. Same with their more kid orientated offerings (the train series I can't remember the name of)

Regarding the Waruders.. I don't think I saw anything about it in this thread, but Warudaros Gigantor isn't the only Warudaros unit coming out. There's also a smaller "Warudaros Soldier Type" coming. Maybe that'll fill the "medium-size Waruder" role?

The Soldier-Type can also form a new arm for Gigantor, one that looks like the arms seen in the illustrations from a while back.

I wonder if they'll make an analog to the Walk Insectors.. Or if Raptorhead and Bughead are that analog.
