According to the development team interview, fur gorilla without molding, it is written to be such as to reproduce the texture to the Tsurutto surface such as CG.

Yeah, that's a bit of a shame - G1 Masterpiece vehicle modes aren't designed in terms of the simplified 80s animation models.

Then again, maybe they'd be concerned selecting realistic Beast Modes would become a problem when handling more stylized characters (Waspinator, for instance).

Yeah I am good for a more CHUG scaling for the BW MPs. The Carbot size works great for my Generations Beast Wars figures.

As that was a toy only aspect never features in the show, my guess is that is one silly gimmick not making a return.

Just like how the Universe Cheetor and Dinobot molds, as well as the Generations Rhinox mold, lack theirs as well (Waspinator's mutant head was made his default head in the show, so his Generations toy lack his "non-mutant" head).

Just like how the Universe Cheetor and Dinobot molds, as well as the Generations Rhinox and Rattrap molds, lack theirs as well (Waspinator's mutant head was made his default head in the show, so his Generations toy lack his "non-mutant" head).

Yeah, a toy with two radically different noggins is going to have more design limitations than just a single head. Why hold back the rest of the design for s non-iconic, oft-forgotten feature that didn't appear onscreen.

Pretty certain thats true, then again they did include both the Sled and the dorky flat face in the MP Ironhide toy.

So, the three gorilla faces seem to be normal, angry, and happy, and the four robot faces seem to be normal, happy, angry, and mouthplated.

I would have said the same (for the back fo the feet), but then Isaw that pic next to the gorilla standing where he has his elbow bent and that is now added to my list of dislikes.

On another note, I can do without smiling faces, I dont see myself ever posing them with those.

The elbows are somewhat show accurate.. to an extent:

To be fair, the placement of the elbows of the front of the arms grants the elbows a wider range of articulation than in the middle of the elbow. It's not a pretty-looking, no, but it's no better/no worse than the original figure or the RobotMasters mold and allows for more poseability than otherwise.

Plus he actually had those cut-out elbows in the show right? I kinda remember seeing his weird elbows and going 'wow, that's weird', but then remembered the toy had them and shrugged and went back to watching the very well written show. But I like they included all those faces, they were extremely expressive characters in the show - a lot of that ended up being non-verbal because they were so well written

I dont see why they couldnt just give the figure double elbows. The middle elbow piece would hae been that metalic joint we see in the cartoon. It would have looked better and given us as much articulation. Look at Roadbuster, that double elbow gives him a ton of articulation possibility:

I dont think it would be before fall. Just judging based on how TT works with their reveals. When they can only show the grey prototype, then it's not for a while. However, it being for the beast wars anniversary means it cant be so near the end of the year either. A release date before September would be a pleasant surprise for me.

Thanks to the Transformers Masterpiece Collectors Group, we now have even more images of the upcoming Masterpiece Optimus Primal. These 4 new images include a shot showing the scale with generations Rhinox and Rattrap, confirming his size, a picture showing his robot-to-beast mode head transformation, and several accessories and gimmicks.

Fellow member Sabrblade had this to add:

To reiterate some of the previous notions given by this issue of Hyper Hobby, in case anyone missed them, the figure is MP-31, will have four robot faces and three beast faces, the swords are too big to store inside his body but can instead be stored on his back somehow, and the height of the figure is 19cm or roughly 7.5 inches, making it about a head taller than Generations Rhinox.
