I would get this because the inside of the trailer has better details than the Hasbro one.

Precisely why I want one. I actually prefer the Hasbro robot quite a bit, but this has the superior trailer.

On the bot mode, I like that the Hasbro has those painted cab lights and the light blue optics.

im stoked for this reissue. i wasnt previously an MP completist, maybe just a 90%'er. and the MP10 era was odd for me cause i wasnt that heavily back into TF's yet and i kinda shrugged him off because i had MP01. by the time hasbros MP10 came out i was well into the thick of the hobby again, and currently im an MP completist. which means a little backtracking on my part. so im quite relieved i dont have to pay the secondary market asking price that takaras MP10 currently goes for.

I agree. The only reason I may get MP-10 is because of the trailer. The details on the inner trailer are beautiful as is the Tamara version is so plain.

Need clarification, MP-10 is the Takara version. Were there differences with the trailer between the Hasbro and Tomy version?

I wonder if the reissue will have painted eyes.

I own a 1st release MP-10, didn't realise that the Hasbro version was unpainted. Thanks for the info Cyberpath.

That would be the pitch hitter if Tomy adds the painted optics.

Why not jsut switch the heads once you get the new takara one. (i haven't tried it.. it can't be that hard right?)

MP-10 is kind of a mish mash awesome yet weird.

The color is the G1 toy and the optics from the anime only dark. The Hasbro, more on the anime with the light color but Roller's color is for the subsequent HasTak G1 releases blue/violet.

Who knows, maybe Tomy will milk the mold again with a more accurate than accurate version infinity? :lol:

Currently listed as Sold Out, but you could ask if there's a another batch coming.

He also made translucent replacement parts for the back of the head, for proper light piping. I don't like that on MPs, but it's pretty cool otherwise.

While it's nice and all... is this needed? You can find this figure rather easily on eBay,for a low amount of money, in both official and KO flavors. Heck, I saw someone selling a G2 version for $10 earlier today! If they re-issue it, it needs to be different in "some" way to make it worth while...

Well, since the original had that stupid "evil-squint" face, if this one comes with the "correct" (IMHO) face that Tigertrack used, that would be the definition of a worthwhile improvement.

I say "if" because I can't enlarge the pic enough to see his face...oh wait, this is just the promo pics from the original, isn't it?

That's precisely why I bought the KO a year and a half ago: correct face, and there was no guarantee of any Takara or Hasbro reissue at the time. I'll gladly buy the real deal to downgrade him to evil-clone-from-Deadly-Paradise-status, but I honestly thought we'd have a Hasbro version by now...or is this a good sign that Hasbro MP Sideswipe is being produced for this summer? IRC his name showing up in computers before Bluestreak, but we still haven't gotten any confirmation right? Just the assumption that Hasbro'd do him and Red Alert while they still had the license from clearing Lockdown's vehicle mode. Well, here's hopin'!

There was another way. Oddly enough, Taara made an exclusive version which came without the tampograph on the hood, meaning that if you spotted that one online it was actually the real thing and not a knock off.

Does anyone know if that exclusive one had the corrected face? I ask because it is technically the last time that mold was used before this new announcement.

I agree that something needs to be different.

Ideally, his eyes will be baby blue instead of metallic (I don't mind the base face) to match more current releases, and if we're super lucky, the hands will be retooled so he can hold his gun snugly without issue. If this reissue does either, I'll buy it.
