I finally have joined in on the WFC goodness...or, goodness once i get the hang of the MP haha(kept getting slagged in 5 seconds by scouts while i was a soldier last night). And hopefully making a slow return to the HMW as well

I have also noticed that scouts are great to play as, but they own you when you're not a scout (its the damn cloak)

Yeah, scout i got up to rank 2 very easily, like almost only in one match, but the other 3 are taking 2 or more to rank up to level 2. I need to get a hang of the weapons too, seem to be dumping clips into people only to be taken out with just a few shots. Only biggest complaint i have right now is it seems the playlists are like CoD:WaW(least from what i've heard) and that it kicks you from a lobby if you don't have the DLC maps.

Yeah, not including host migration is not the most professional thing to do when designing games for online play, I mean Halo 3 has had it since 2007ish (or whenever it came out). On Xbox live, you can choose to stay in the lobby and pray that enough people veto the dlc map. And of course there's being booted halfway thru a match for no apparent reason (this one shits me the most, as I was on a 7 kill streak as a scientist one night, then the match ended for no reason and everyone got booted back to the first multiplayer menu)

Yeah, the host migration on this is actually worse than Modern Warfare 2 lol. Does the same on PS3 when the new maps pop up in the rotation. And lucky you..i have yet to get a killstreak that i am aware of. Though come to think of it instead of the slightly weird UAV reward i don't believe i've really even seen any of the others.

I haven't actually played in a while come to think of it (what with life and such). And that may have been my only killstreak as a scientist lol. As i said before, scouts may be the best class (IMO) and are great to play as with the cloaking ability, leaders go alright as well. For some reason I seem to take more hits to die as a leader than as a soldier (go figure). Personally I feel that WfC is a bit like KOTOR2 (at this point I'd like to point out the SW:KOTOR series is my favourite game series. Best SW games to date), a game people love, but one which needs improvement. With the having to update the console and even games before playing now and then via the online service, these improvements aren't impossible (back in 2004, technology was not as advanced as it is now, and hence not updates for KOTOR2, unles you have it for pc.)

Armor question for you guys. Is it worth it to have a rank of 1 for armor purposes? If so which is the better to get, ceramic or steel?

Meh. Endurance > Rank

I would only invest in armor if you already have a high strength and your stats are to the point where getting an additional Rank upgrade is relatively cheap compared to other upgrades.

Basically what the nudist said

Circumstantially rank can work at levels 1-2, but its not that good unless you play the arena more than missions and have a high str. After that point there are too many stats in tactics for it to be as viable again until about 4th level when you can have enough xp to have a 7+ str and decent speed and end to keep from getting slaughtered.

Each stat of rank is barely noticeable on its own, but once you have 4+ rank and a 10 str you really see the difference. But too much rank too soon isn't really practical either, I've been keepin an eye on Omega Scion's bot with a 10 rank for a while, and I'd have to say its not as impressive as one would think. A good rule of thumb is stats in rank equal to level, or up to 2 less, But I'm sure others would disagree.

Also the more expensive armors are better than the cheaper armors of the same rank. its still close enough to not make much difference, but every % of damage shaved off an attack adds up.

Or you could toy around and see what works for you

Thanks for the info guys. I went ahead I started working at a higher endurance. I'll wait until level 3 or 4 before I start messing with rank.

Just wanted y'all to know that I am traveling to Africa tomorrow for nine days. I do not believe I will have many opportunities to play HMW while I am over there. Just didn't want anyone to think I had died or anything. I know, that would seriously crush Burn, as he has grown so fond of me over the years.

Now, if you don't see me playing full time in ten days...then send out the troops out looking for me.

He's gaining ground on me at a breathtaking speed, and by the end of today or by tomorrow, he'll be the new number 3 player in HMW!

Yes, it is work related and, consequently, for those of you who are my facebook friends, I ask that you refrain from posting anything about this on my wall. It is somewhat politically sensitive. When I get back I can share more details.

I will not venture out into the jungle or anything like that, but will primarily be staying in government buildings and a high-end hotel.
