Quite bluntly, this figure would never have been released at retail. Ever. Certainly not in the US, and probably not even in Japan.

I think he meant just the character rather than this specific deco.

But it's the deco that makes this worthwhile as a club figure (or not, depending on your opinion). The fact that it's that character really doesn't mean a thing.

Well, let's look at it from this way. While it would have been most preferable for the figure to have come to mass retail instead of from the Club, the alternative is for it to have never come out at all. If the Club had chosen to forgo the character choice they went with, and instead had gone with someone else entirely (perhaps another more niche character), would the complete absence of any possible chance of owning a CW Bluestreak have been more irksome or less irksome than the Club's giving current offering giving it a chance to possibly exist and be owned by some members of the fandom (even if that quantity of fans would be a smaller number than what a mass retail release would offer)?RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:G.B. Yes, it does, since that's who I'm talking about. I mean Bluestreak. That's who should have gotten retail release.

The fact that the club did this deco means absolutely nothing about whether or not the character would/could have come out. It still can. This toy didn't, and won't, have any impact on that.
But the deco? No way that's ever happening at retail. If the club didn't do it, it probably would never exist at all (allowing for the slim chance than Japan might, it's still the slimmest of chances).

The fact that TFSS did Bluestreak has every bearing on the main line, because Hasbro will veto things that the Club wants to do if they plan on the same figure relatively soon
Though to be honest, I wonder if psrhaps Bluestreak should have been an announced figure now. Seems like he has a lot of support. Maybe he woulda sold one more 4.0 or 5.0 if he swapped places.

Depends on what we would have gotten instead.

And, yes, I ask this knowing full well that Takara could release their own version at a later point (as was the case with the BotCon 2007 Seekers getting Gentei! Gentei! counterpart releases), but at this present point in time, there's no sign or guarantee that Takara will do so (nor is there anything saying that they won't, but that also just shows that Takara doing their own is just not a relevant factor at this point).
I meant specifically as a CW version.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:Well, since I already own the guy in another form, several forms actually, hell yeah I'd take the risk!

You don't collect CW figures... yet you want this CW figure to come to retail?RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:I meant specifically as a CW version.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:Well, since I already own the guy in another form, several forms actually, hell yeah I'd take the risk!
With few exceptions, such as Victorion and Sky Lynx, I don't really buy CW figures. But seriously, just release the guy at retail! Save the exclusive slot for someone who hasn't gotten an Encore Reissue, Universe 2.0, Alternators/Binaltech, Masterpiece and god knows what else I'm forgetting.

Besides the obvious notion that CW having ended and been succeeded by Titans Return makes such a request unlikely anyway, what's the point for yourself personally in requesting a retail release for a figure you don't even want?

... To open up the free figure slot for a character that HASN'T gotten as many figures as this one!
